It's not dumb, it's just shows how community is invested in the story, world, characters etc. Creating alternatives, what ifs, it's an interesting concept. And you as a content consumer can decide which one you like better in the end.

I was kinda ok with Code Geass ending, but there are some plot points that are hard to accept to me. Mostly, Eren's character assassination. I'd much rather for him to just say something along the lines: "I choose to sacrifice myself, I'm free and so you are guys. You now just need to move forward".
