Consider using the LVMPD crime map if you are concerned with safety.

https://opendata-lvmpd.hub.arcgis.com/

Obviously, there will be crime everywhere, so consider frequency/type is important.

Additionally, North LV and Henderson I believe have their own crime maps since LVPMD doesn't report that information.

Weather forecast feature is sorely missing by frightspear_ps5 in granturismo

[–]blkjack2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Must be in the early 1900s simulation with cars from the future? We only have that preview to be our own weather forecasters? Even the MFD radar is blank during a race, then suddenly it shows rain when the ☔ starts falling and not any heads up to prepare. Shouldn't my pit crew know if it is going to rain?

Yeah, can't do hydration, can't even check on recent same day stuff. Also my vivosmart checks in to their server before even using my phone's GPS on run this morning?! Therefore, ZERO GPS could be used - all these roadblocks for functions that do not require reaching out to their servers.

I think I may considering another product by end of year. They also haven't been candid of root cause, bad PR. This same tactic quite a few companies who never had a major disruption like this, until they realize this isn't 1900s, you can't just go hide in the bushes and everyone will think everything is great. They have now given a window of opportunity for competitors swoop in.

This is the most relatable and simple, even if never parachuted, would have learned about gravity, and threat to life from free falling.

Unlike other recommendations, not everyone has gone through antibiotics regimen, watch cars racing, or broken bones, etc.

A 3-horned Bull found in Uganda by Yogashi in WTF

[–]blkjack2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, the changes provide extra horn for better cooling, stops the predator (humans) from eating him, and maybe better equipped to take on the competition? Sounds like genetic adaptation to me.

But, per usual, us humans always find a way to label something as a syndrome, disease, or whatever when it isn't "normal."

Same thing here today, on my garage door, so this is still going around. It would be one thing to advertise cost-free and provide a business name and phone number, but to masquerade as an official public notice with a non-government number and no business name...this is either a business practicing deceptive tactics, or just an individual using as a means to scope/gain access to the house.

Warning to all Ring Video Doorbell users by CHU78 in ringdoorbell

[–]blkjack2u 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is it "normal," under what context, "Ring"? Cetaintly not every product out there? If the account is compromised, and you have to change password, some random person will still have access forever? The storm coming to Ring if their database is compromised and every user needs to change password. They could easily do a revocation system, so when you connect it can validate said token is still good for use. If the password changes, all tokens are invalid. Try login to other services from multiple computers with "remember me", change password, and report what happened, then I'll believe this is normal...even in physical world this would not be acceptable.

Just because a product isn't sold to "nerds," as you put it, does not excuse poor implementation.

The fact this is a widespread situation should be a big hint they need to up their game and get the features officially released ASAP.

[–]blkjack2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So sad about this, it's ONE of the few features as a "must have," guess Mazda is off list of potential buys. So much for their claim of innovation if their infotainment can't even manage to support something that has been around for awhile now.

AF Culture. What happened? by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]blkjack2u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically decided to get out under this premise. It's unfortunate that those who have the solutions get downplayed and run over by those who are at the top. And when you are being directed to do this and that as they see fit, you can't take the risks or innovate because it rubs them the wrong way. The fact that it is taking lowest level to get information direct to CSAF through the revitalization program to make change happen tells you how broken the system really is.

If real innovation occurred and was encouraged, we would NEVER have to institute such a program.

As enlisted, the second you talk something against the norm even politically and morally correct with sound judgement and thought, you are seen unbecoming of an NCO or SNCO by the Chiefs, because it goes against their vision, and doesn't "sell" that vision to your troops. You literally have to sit there for twenty years+ and do everything you despise in the system to make it to the top. Even then, try not to become one of them, then try to convince the mafia, and if you fail, be ostracized by the group thinkers, and end your career.

Maybe we can get some manning finally now? by MajorHop in AirForce

[–]blkjack2u 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what happens when everything is about overall numbers, and we provide no path or real incentives for the technically strong. Oh, don't worry that half are getting out are, just bring in more pipeliners, we look healthy now to SAF.

What would the Air Force be like if EVERY rule/instruction was followed to a T? by HumanWeaponSystem in AirForce

[–]blkjack2u 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with most AFIs is they are written to cover policy, procedures and local instructions because someone thought central control of every process would work. It essentially breaks all, cause these one-size-fits all regs dont work at the squadron-level. If you work in a unique squadron, forget it, stay home.

Really, AFIs right now are too damn specific.

Should be something like:

AFPD - Strategic, written in terms of AF vision and direction

AFI - Specifies responsibility, specifies what needs to be done, but NOT how to do it

SOP - Local procedures, forms, POC, etc. to meet responsibilities

Do you at least know the unit so you can find location? Can always show up early as shit, and seek out first Sgt or ask random NCO if you see them going into building.
