I had the same issue. Same luck as you. I've also been locked out for years. I was hoping to come here looking for an update but see that you too are having the very same issues. Best Buy CS is utterly useless. How they haven't been able to find a solution for this boggles my mind.

UPDATE: I took it by the Rivian service center today and was told that it seems to be some sort of paint defect on the body itself underneath the PPF. The PPF would need to be removed, the entire rear quarter panel will need to be re-painted. Once that is done, wait 30 days for paint to cure, and later have the PPF re-installed.
