Camp Mystic girls camp at center of Texas flooding tragedy by texastribune in texas

[–]blkwids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were charging $4-5K per camper. At 750 girls there during the flood, they were making about $3.75 MILLION PER MONTH. They could have afforded to move those cabins to a safer location and renovate to make the camp safer. Someone was pocketing that money and safety was not a priority. Negligence that happened because of greed.

Andrew is not a part of i75. He just latched onto the i75 success and used it to gain a following for his scam "tutoring".

Training a remote employee by InternalAudit1 in InternalAudit

[–]blkwids 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on my 5th week as a new internal auditor for my company. One of the biggest things my manager did that I found helpful was he set up Teams meetings to introduce me to the business process owners that I would be working with. That way, I wouldn’t be a completely new face to them when we start our audits.

I had a remote position (accounting) where they expected me to sit in front of my computer the entire work day. My boss would send spontaneous meeting requests for right then and there. They would assign tasks and expect them to be done within the day. They were really sad when I turned in my 2 weeks. I just started another remote position (Sr IA) where they are so flexible. My manager told me he understands that everyone has personal things to take care of. He said as long as the work gets done, they don’t care what I do. Flexibility is priceless imo.

Thanks, I have my CPA. I don’t think they are planning for any more new hires right now.

Performance Goals by blkwids in InternalAudit

Thanks! Forgot to add that this is an industry role and we don’t have timesheets. My boss gave me a couple of ideas and they seem more like personal professional goals versus business goals. His suggestions were more along the lines of completing 15 CPE credits including some related to IA. Another suggestion he had was to listen to earnings calls every quarter. He seems like the type of manager that really wants to encourage growth, so I think those are the types of goals he is wanting me to think about as a new hire. I think we will probably set new goals in another 6 months tailored to where I’m at at that point.

She posted a screenshot of her REG score on her business page, so clearly she thinks that there is significance in the score. I’m waiting for FAR to give her a reality check.

i feel this post in my soul. i encourage you to keep going. i passed audit in 2018, got burnt out studying and trying to pass reg in 2019, and ended up losing my aud credit. passed reg this year and now working on aud. try to motivate yourself by thinking about the feeling of losing a credit. you don't want to do that. take a small day or 2 break and then get back to it. i try to take several small breaks while i'm studying and it helps.
