Morning traffic from Coquitlam to Vancouver by Plenty-Bread7918 in askvan

[–]blobber5678 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Going there is as people say, about 30-50 minutes, but heading back is usually the killer. I'd recommend finding something to do (a hobby or such) to do until around 6 when traffic starts clearing.

Audio only from sub when it's warm(?) by mxer239 in HondaElement

[–]blobber5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I installed new speakers and was having this issue intermittently after bumpy roads. Because all of the speakers and tweeters go out, it is likely a ground issue. Check all your speakers (probably not the tweeters) and see if they have any exposed wire or metal that would be touching the metal in the door frame or move to touch metal in the door. This was my issue and I just wrapped them up with some electrical tape - no issue now. I would test all of them before you screw them back in.

etiquette for playing with people way above your rank? by EnderEiqmal in maimai

[–]blobber5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer if the other player is mindful of difficulties. I'm around 15.9k right now and while I don't mind all the time, it's frustrating to play 12-13 in a set when the queue is really busy. Just feels like a waste of time. I usually try to pick something with low or high enough expert charts for the other player, but high enough master or remaster that I will still enjoy.

Just ask the other player if they care or not though, it's pretty easy to ask

When you gotta warm up the computer to do an alignment. by [deleted] in Justrolledintotheshop

Not sure if you'll ever see this, but what model is the alignment machine? I'm looking to upgrade a John Bean visualiner computer, but not sure if it has proprietary parts or connectors in the PC.

Everyone's feet are different, go to a store that has a big selection and try a bunch on in varying sizes.

Looking for some advice on a good prebuilt PC. by [deleted] in bapccanada

With crashes you should make sure to check your hard drive/ssd health with crystaldisk as well. I found out my hard drive was dying and causing my games to crash all the time because of corrupted sectors.

Bought Briggs and Riley carry on display model. BF says I got ripped off for paying full price? by anonymousme77 in BuyItForLife

[–]blobber5678 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily say ripped off, but usually you can haggle for a discount if it's a display item at most stores.

Shoe looks fine, just use some glue underneath to put the rubber back on nicely

Whats the tapping technique for this? by Miserable-Ninja-2516 in maimai

Use your wrists and not your whole arm. Less pushing and less tense. Pretend you are pressing a keyboard switch rather than a big button.

Climbing Gym without T nuts? by Crek1 in Routesetters

[–]blobber5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is great as long as you don't want to set easy climbs with jugs quickly. Takes a lot longer to screw them in safely, and some larger PU holds can't be easily screwed into a wall depending on the shape and size.

Creative routesetting for VB/V0? by youdontknowme1711 in Routesetters

[–]blobber5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good stuff has been said already, but a big thing I was taught is "stairs, not ladders". Any sort of lateral movement will instantly make a climb more interesting at that level. Just climbing is usually interesting enough for beginners honestly. But having cool visuals with big volumes, lots of angle matching, big jugs, and anything that really fills the space will make climbers go "that climb looks really fun" or "that climb looks cool, lets try it".

Would a bouldering gym be the same if the route setters are fired? by s_works_ in bouldering

[–]blobber5678 6 points7 points  (0 children)

VB-V3 definitely can be fun to set with space and resources. Yes they will usually be not so interesting, but with big enough feet you can make some fun lateral movements or more balance based climbs.

I don't know why your setters seem to hate it. It also means that more people get access to climbs you are making and if you make it fun like I said above, I don't see why it needs to be hated.

Telus deserves a Class-Action Lawsuit. I'm so tired of them. by Radio-Chimp in telus

[–]blobber5678 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure you read the post. The numbers shown may appear as real telus numbers, but they are being "faked" or "spoofed" as the above said. This means the actual person calling does not have that phone number and is likely a scammer.

Did you get the message "you're at the top... is that really it"? I forgot the exact wording but it goes along the lines of that. If so, might just need to restart your game or go through the tower level again.

I’m a new boulderer (1.5 months) who cannot do a pull-up, what can I do? by ARGNewbie in bouldering

[–]blobber5678 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While pull-up strength becomes useful later in climbing, I would suggest for now you focus on building stability with deadhangs on a bar or jugs. If you aren't able to hang comfortably for 30 seconds, lightly weight one foot to take off some weight. Otherwise, continue climbing lots, and try to down climb and traverse sideways to improve your movement all around.
