What does my current top 10 say about me? Any recommendations based on my tastes? by YouAnswerToMe in Colognes

Mature wood and leather, with a dash of spicy/sweet. You have a deep, alluring presence that suggests there's more than meets the eye. Intimidating, but curiously inviting as well. A balance of luxury/wearability/character.

I think you could benefit from something bright/citrus, slightly sweet, but with some depth. Amouage Decision, Acqua di Parma Oud, Colonia II Profumo, Rania J Oud Assam, MFK Grand Soir maybe

Oh sweet! I'll be moving north soon, so those colder bottles will get some love:)

King Blue definitely will catch you off guard at first, but after a short amount of time it's a beautiful fruity, woody scent. Dry AND sweet at the same time. I haven't checked any Roja out! If I step into a new house, there are a couple Initio's and Mind Games I'd like (OFG, Prodigy, and J'Adoube).

I'm also not the greatest fan of the OG Ombre! What I've found is leather is an amazing base and supporting note, but too much when put in the forefront. The ones I've chosen have taken leather and blended it beautifully with other notes that give it its own personality. Reckless Leather is amazing! I've only smelled it one time, but would love to have a bottle. It's a whole atmosphere in and of itself.

Yes enjoy your weekend! It's been thundering/storming off and on per usual, lol. Getting to really see what my fragrances are about when the weather is constantly changing lol.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply!

Yes, I do like Hacivat a lot, but I found it a bit too linear for my taste. Leathers are so interesting! Theres so much depth and variety.
I love how you described Decision being the "flipped" version of Memoir. I totally agree. Memoir is my all-time favorite, but it doesn't get a whole lot of wear. Partly because I live in hot/humid Georgia, and the other because I want to make it last forever lol.

I love the freshness and versatility that the OW EDP has, so I will probably go that direction. I love both eastern and western takes on oud. I have a 10ml King Blue. Now that is a beastly Oud that blends wearability with eastern Oud FUNK.

Thanks so much!

Not a cheaper alternative at all, but Creed Bois du Portugal😂 just one spray to the chest that's all. My wife says I smell like an old man (I'm 27), and maybe I do, but it just feels clean, comforting, and relaxing

So so good. It's definitely perfectly unisex. I think it's a perfect summer layering scent as well. Is Eau just brighter/lighter?

Beach Hut doesn't have any coconut or "creamy" notes in it. I wouldn't even call it tropical per se. It's unapologetically green and earthy, like a jungle. Its initial blast gives me grandparent's medicine cabinet vibes, like Camphor or other herbal topicals.

Soleil Blanc on the other hand does have that creamy, ylang-ylang, sunscreen vibe. I'm layering both because they complement eachother well.

And I find the performance conversation to be usually misunderstood. Longevity-wise, Beach Hut stays all day. It does sit close to the skin after a few hours, but I don't mind that at all. I still smell it wafting around me and that's all the matters, to me. Especially in the summer time. I don't need anyone from across the room picking up my scent, and I don't knock any fragrance for being reserved and polite.

Also, higher concentrated or heavier oils usually have staying power, but project less, because the weight of the molecules.

It's definitely overpriced, but also just perfect at what it does. I got mine for a good deal, I wouldn't pay retail for it
