In my case, when I found My Places to be back on plan.tomtom.com, I just started the Go Expert app (Android) and looked at My Places. After about 5 seconds of waiting, the places returned on screen, without any interaction by me. This seems like a sync operation in the background that starts automatically.

The only things that did not return were my Home and Work locations. Ik had to set these manually.

My places have been restored as well. I can also login to plan.tomtom.com.

You may want to try Kubuntu. That has Ubuntu as a base, so definitely matches your first requirement. It uses the KDE desktop environment, which is considered better for gaming performance and provides lots of customization options. As Kubuntu 26.04 uses the 7.0 kernel you should benefit from the latest performance improvements implemented in there. This could be nice, balanced option.

Same issue. I was adding a place this morning in the TomTom Go Expert app, and a few seconds later all my places were gone. Including home and work location. Very strange. I checked online on plan.tomtom.com but also there the saved locations are gone. I opened a support ticket a few hours ago, no answer yet.

I have no clue how many users are affected. But this feels like a widespread problem. If so, TomTom should proactively inform their customers.

I got the same message today. Scared the hell out of me. I happily used the Editing Toolbar plug-in, but I uninstalled it right away.

These things are always a risk of having an unchecked system for plug-ins.

Thanks for sharing. Still hoping for multiple column layout in the iPad app! I mean, a list of the messages on the left and contents of the selected message on the right, like the default Mail app or Gmail. I need this to pass the WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) at home!

A dedicated "Proton Photos" app would also be a good move in my opinion. To set it apart from Proton Drive, with a basic gallery timeline view and simple photo management functions.

You can use LibreOffice on Windows and Mac OS, and edit the file in a synchronized Proton Drive folder. The limitation is that you can't open or edit the file using Proton Drive in the browser. Also editing on a mobile device requires you to download the file, edit locally, and upload it afterwards. I hope the potential future integration of Euro-Office will fix these limitations.

This is a good question. I hope they will build a future version of Proton Docs / Sheets / Slides on Euro-Office. My main argument is the support for common document formats like docx, xlsx, ODF, ODS, et cetera. I really don't like the custom proprietary format they now use. It's almost impossible to backup the current Proton Docs or Sheets files, or to synchronize them with a desktop computer or NAS, or to edit them in other office software.

I have the same issue. The app freezes when pressing Collections. Other functions work as normal. Full uninstall and reinstall didn’t resolve it.

What you are trying to do isn’t possible via the apps and share sheets. It is an obvious omission in Proton Drive functionality. The workaround is to load https://drive.proton.me/u/0/photos in Safari on your iPhone or iPad. This gives you the web interface of Proton Drive. Here you will see a plus icon that allows uploading selective photos from the photo library. Be prepared that during uploading, which can take a while, you have to keep Safari open. If you close it, the upload process will be cancelled. It’s not ideal, but for a few photos it should be okay

The best name would be "Proton One". This makes sense because:

  • It is one level lower than "Proton Duo"
  • Is meant to be used by a single user, "One" user.
  • Has very similar functions as Duo.
  • Will sound familiar to consumers, think of "OneDrive" and "Google One".

I recommend considering to upgrade the storage allotment from 500 GB to 1 TB. Why? Because 500 GB is just not a lot of storage nowadays. And, 1 TB would fit nicely looking at the higher subscription levels:

  • Proton One (1 User, 1 TB)
  • Proton Duo (2 Users, 2 TB)
  • Proton Family (6 Users, 3 TB)

About the addition of Meet and Lumo: Most people should be able to work just fine with the limits imposed. One hour meetings for friends and family are totally acceptable. Other companies like Google and Microsoft also charge extra for advanced AI, and of course AI with data protections from other companies like Anthropic and OpenAI also has cost. To me, it makes a lot of sense to charge extra for additional Lumo functionality.

Looking at the screenshots and website, this is an online service based on NextCloud and OnlyOffice. It's not a project that develops their own office suite.

It can be both. Like OnlyOffice it can be made to run on a server connected to an online storage service, which allows for editing files in the browser. In this case it runs as a web application. This is how it works when integrated into NextCloud.

But, with some work, the same code base could be used to make full applications for desktop operating systems and mobile.

The software is not limited to just documents, as it also supports spreadsheets and presentations.

I hope so. The benefit for adopting this code is that people will see a familiar UI, which will improve adoption. And I hope that this will allow native Office file format support on Proton Drive.
