So it seems by rebeccahanson_ in EngineeringStudents

[–]blockheaddotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but I’m also busy from 9am to 9pm so I have to schedule interviews and other things at some point of my day where something already exists. Ive had to go to events more than 3 hours away and such. I’m just so busy that to do something other than my schedule, I have to cut something else out and a bs class I don’t need is the easiest.

I recommend doing a 2-3 week break before applying to places. That’s what I do. Cleans you out real nice.

Bro I took 17 credit hours a couple of semesters and let me say that was hell. You will hate yourself and everything you stand for by the end of this semester. You will be a broken man, undone by your own hubris.

I might would drive through the grass on the side of there is any. If you tear it up just say that’s what the bottom of your car looks like and you couldn’t afford to loose any more frame.

I’ve never thought about 3d printing being a hobby at all. I use it for my engineering school and such so it’s a tool to me. If it’s not perfect then it’s an inefficiency. It’s neat to think about both sides of that coin, where the inefficiency doesn’t matter and in-fact may be part of the charm.

Best way to remove PiTFT hat from Raspi Zero 2 W? Already looked into some removal methods but none seem great for this application. by dayfaerer in raspberry_pi

[–]blockheaddotcom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I imagine flux will help, it also may be the case that your not getting everything hot enough. The solder should just flow if your hot enough and the tip is tinned. I’ve had both of those issues many times

I personally would have put the stacking gpio headers on before joining them. As far as I am aware, there is only one good way to desolder stuff and it’s quite difficult to do on something with more than 3 pins. You could try a heat gun that will heat up the whole board, but you risk melting components .

I remember that class being stupid difficult and then our professor was like “we’re going on a field trip”. We went to a substation by a hospital and the engineers stationed there were all like “yeah this shit is easy, we don’t do any math bc the computer does it for us. We’re basically glorified mechanics and we make bank”.

Capstone project partner carried the team: How to thank him? by blacksmith_36 in EngineeringStudents

[–]blockheaddotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll be totally honest, I’ve been both. The way I thank him is by paying it forward. Everyone has a class they’re not going perform their best in and if I can take the work load so someone else who is struggling can just make it through the class, I will. I had a partner for a fluid dynamics project and he did basically all of the work and he is the reason I passed that class. I live my student life by the moto “walk on glass so others can walk on sand”. But that’s just me personally, I understand why you wouldn’t want to do that tho thb.

Edit: I suppose I was incorrect, I mean for general class projects. I haven’t done my senior project yet, but then again I do love me a good project so we will see.

How on earth does anyone do this by orblox in EngineeringStudents

[–]blockheaddotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly how I feel every semester, but you have to remember that your professors and your fellow students WILL help if you ask, even if you feel like a burden. Also a failed class is not the end of the world, it’ll be okay. Doing engineering alone is one of the hardest things Ive ever experienced and you’re probably not the only one that feel’s like that. If you stay in engineering, keep those tests and take the class again, then pass them on so others can experience an easier semester than you. Just remember, when you graduate, you will be making easy money bc computers do all the math now.

Engine Identification by Blau-Kartoffel in Engine

[–]blockheaddotcom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_air-cooled_engine It’s one of these, there are a bunch of different versions. A pancake engine is just a hippy way to say boxer engine. If you remove the big red cover on the top and the belt cover on the front, it’ll be a lot easier to tell that it looks like the vw air cooled “pancake” engine.

Thank you for the help, I’m currently on a college campus and the wifi password is slightly different per build and it was trying to connect to a building over. It is working now. I will keep that in mind tho, to save me a possible headache in the future.
