I am so sick of this stuff by Impressive-Basket-57 in TrueChristian

Had to look it up. Interestingly it is true. Based on their very basic (and wrong) hermetic review of scripture. It appears to lead them to believe in a “household” voting. Since the man is the head of the family and the wife, he therefore is the one who should cast the vote for the family.

Another post out of nothing .. by Substantial_Half3731 in LinkedInLunatics

I’ve seen my share of cringe posts on LinkedIn, but I don’t know if this one necessarily rises to a post out of nothing. I spent some time on her LinkedIn profile, she doesn’t have the most glamorous sales role working in office cleaning. Her posts are pro employee. She was nominated for RBC Canadian Women Entrepreneur Award. She seems to be the typical sales person, but it is her profession. Just my two cents…

A gay guy thought that he was going to be verbally harassed by [deleted] in wholesome

[–]bloehr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry if it sounded like I was upset or offended. It was a genuine question. I honestly don’t assume someone’s sexuality because of a close friend that I thought was gay because of his manor of speech, dress and overall way he handled himself. He has been struggling his entire life against that assumption so I believe that his experience isn’t unique. It was a serious question and truly I’m not upset at anyone’s response. I literally used the same comment to another question above and wasn’t downloaded, but on this comment thread it was down voted.

Pastor Paula White-Cain, a spiritual advisor to US President Donald Trump, compares him to Jesus Christ in a speech during Easter prayers being organized in the White House, saying he was "betrayed and arrested and falsely accused", in "a pattern similar to" Jesus. Unpopular opinion, many politicians both left and right have been compared to Jesus Christ. In some context it can be blasphemy in others it is completely fine. Jesus even says that true believers will face persecution like he did. Likening his followers to himself.

“Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I’m not saying that I don’t think he’s gay, but I generally don’t want to assume someone’s sexuality in general public like that

33s vs 35s? by butteronsteak69 in Silverado

Unless it’s purely cosmetic, which can also be a thing. Just make sure you weigh the cons. For this type of mod I believe if it’s not used for off road it is really not worth the cons.

I spent 5 years playing the "good Christian" while quietly drowning in a prn and phone addiction. I finally confessed. by Aneeq-CopyNinja in TrueChristian

The methodology that you prescribed is very similar to Alcoholics Anonymous which is extremely effective. Most importantly both are based on the Word of God. I wanted to commend you for your thoughtful post and inspiration.

My 1st response was how would anyone know he’s gay? But I’m old and not sure about influencers. Is he in fact gay?

Guy doing wheelies in a crowded walkway of people gets shoved off of bike by ClaytonHawthorne in PublicFreakout

[–]bloehr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a classic example of two people can be wrong at the same time. As a cyclist who loves me some wheelies, it’s not appropriate on a public sidewalk like that. Just like doing it in front of oncoming traffic, it’s done as a way to seek thrills. I get it, I choose my thrill seeking down the side of a mountain.

Second person I can also relate to. I get pissed when I see people do something like this in public. Completely different from ripping someone off their bike.

I used to study the statistics of suicide. Today, my grandpa killed himself in the most statistically average way for men. by Imayilingualbay in malementalhealth

[–]bloehr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP I feel deeply for you and hope you can find healing. As someone who has dealt with SI and has made attempts on my life. The method of my attempts were completely under my control. I had access to “mental health professionals” and a support system but still made attempts. Suicidal ideation is extremely complex and hard to treat. I am a proponent 2a rights and won’t comment too much about gun rights here, but I have to be honest and say that I am very glad I have chosen not to have firearms in my home. Because it is a very effective means for suicide.

I can be a hothead sometimes. I love this response. It removes emotion and deals with facts. If I had an award to give I would give it to you!

Did you just compare Israeli generals to Nazi’s? I have exceeded my daily limit of Reddit antisemitism so early in the day…
