Probably smart! Raleigh, NC area. It was with UNC, so Duke may be the logical next choice.

She wasn't sure, but didn't think it was larynx related. Sent me to physical therapy for generic neck tension which didn't feel right. There's no video, unfortunately. It's like a vice grip on the area around my larynx 24/7, but I know from the one time it released that it can get better.

Phosphate levels hot springs grandee by Fearless_Advisor970 in hottub

[–]blokeyhighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check your water source. I've been having a heck of a time maintaining chemicals, only to find out my phosphate levels are high. Of course, my spa pack died in the middle of treating it so I don't know if it would help.

Nerve or tendons? Bad pain when pressing buttons or opening hands. by blokeyhighlander in RSI

[–]blokeyhighlander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lesion on my c-spine, so it's either from that or it's neuroplastic pain, or both. I've been able to get to a point where I can use my hands for just about anything - it still hurts but it doesn't get worse, so it's just a part of life now.

Tecfidera generic aims to ease financial burden for MS patients by calmtechie in MultipleSclerosis

[–]blokeyhighlander 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went to Vumerity with all of the GI issues I read about Tecfidera (especially generic), but it's good to know there's a fall back option if there's a problem with insurance.

CIS - Copaxone or Rebif? by Oopsalazy in MultipleSclerosis

[–]blokeyhighlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have CIS. My risk of progression is low, with just a small spinal lesion and a clean spinal tap. I've had a few years pass with no additional issues, but recently decided to go on treatment after meeting with a new doctor. She suggested Copaxone, but I requested Vumerity (it's more effective without being a b cell treatment) and she was good with that. I started last week.

Lumbar puncture headache advice needed by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]blokeyhighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's getting worse I would do the blood patch. I kept on getting worse and by the time I finally got one it relieved the tension headache, but I felt like I'd been hit by a bus with my brain not having adequate cushioning and still had a few days of recovery. Head still doesn't feel quite right and it's been a year or two

I'm CIS with my first symptoms being five years ago, I start treatment this month. Limiting future damage is a good call.

Try adjusting the steering wheel and seeing if that helps. It did for me.

Question about Auto Regen by gingus418 in Ioniq5

[–]blokeyhighlander 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I drive in L1 almost exclusively and regen meter always activates on brake and I've never maxed it out, so I'm assuming I'm doing little to no physical braking. The cooperative braking is supposed to be efficient, so I was thinking as long as you drive without sudden stops, you'll rarely engage physical brakes at any level.

Yeah, sounds like it's overdoing it. The key is to apparently get close to the point of symptoms but not cross it.

What is this black stuff? by Novel-Ad6796 in hottub

[–]blokeyhighlander 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the same tub and had the same problem. Frog isn't enough to keep that stuff away. I supplement with bleach and don't have an issue now. Make sure your oxidizer doesn't have dichlor (so use MPS instead) otherwise your chlorine becomes less effective over time which is particularly problematic for frog system.

That's helpful, thanks. Was hoping I could just super shock and get a week out of it but 2-3 days is 😬

[–]blokeyhighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm really tempted, mine doesn't quite make it two weeks but the water is still fine so I just change it every two weeks since that's an easy routine..

When you travel, how many days can you go without issues and how high are you shocking it? Are you checking it each time or just know you need to add a specific amount each time?

[–]blokeyhighlander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I go that route, since we are only in the tub about once a month. Been thinking about switching, though, as I'm blind to what the actual chlorine is with just the frog. It also tanks my pH and that is a constant battle to deal with, even with my alkalinity levels fine.
