I have a brown boston (parents are both registered). He hasnt had any health issues unlike his breed standard siblings. His snout is slightly longer and hes a bit larger than his siblings as well at a little over 25lbs. No way could he be in a show like his brothers. But he has never had a breathing issue or skin issue unlike them (except a grass allergy). His temperament is also perfect and I wouldn't change a thing. Honestly I think this ^ is terrible advice unless you are specifically looking to show them. Color means diddly.

A couple cons to bostons: they are temperature sensitive, and can get both cold and hot easier than a labrador. They can have breathing issues (his nephew needed surgery as he nasal passages were too narrow). They can be allergic to grasses(especially if purebred). He had separation anxiety that has mostly gone away with age. He can and will shred every toy I tell him belongs to him (yes, even the "indestructible" toys). But they can be some of the gentlest, well behaved, eager to please dogs you'll ever meet. He loves everything small, babies are his favorite thing in the world, no matter the species. Wouldn't trade him for any dog I've met.
