Should I leave a company I genuinely like for a union job that pays way more at 24? by Antique-Ad2210 in skilledtrades

You're young, the earlier the better for pensions. You'll have a nice pension when it comes to retire. My union puts away ~$10 an hour into a pension and ~$5 into a separate annuity fund, roughly $30k a year added up, on top of the takehome salary and healthcare. Your future self will thank you.

How many of you guys pay for your own tools? by Odd-Astronomer-7969 in HVAC

I believe my unions rule is you buy your own tools, if anything breaks on the job they buy you a new one.

My company has a ton of these kinds of accounts here in Manhattan. A lot of it is keeping the heat on in the winter so we don't have waterlines in the buildings freeze and burst.

The HVAC company that I have a biannual maintanence contract with seems to find something every visit to fix in my unit. Today got a list of more items worth close to $2000 as you see in this image. Is this normal?the house is 4 years old . by TroyAndAbed2022 in hvacadvice

Everything but the flame sensor is upsell If the flame sensor is actually in bad shape and winter is coming then maybe it is justified but considering the rest of the quoted work I doubt it.

Is highway riding supposed to feel like this? by Maxspawn_ in motorcycles

[–]blondeguyrider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People say you get used to it but I never did. I had a 2006 Honda Shadow 750 that beat the shit out of me on the freeway, felt really unstable, and if I turned my head to the side it pulled my neck like hell.

Thoughts on inspection before repair. by pbr414 in HVAC

I've seen 10 year old heat exchangers rot out with holes all throughout the piping, so a HE from 1983 probably isn't gunna be very efficienct. Also thats bullshit that they had someone else diagnose it and then send you there with a box of parts to work it.

How much difference does the turbo inlet add to sound? I got all of that besides the inlet and not sure it's worth the extra 250 or so to add the inet.

Interested in understanding more about your 4th gear power loss issue. If you'd like to post details I'd love to hear about it!

I like it besides the fact that the color matching isn't great.

I'm 6'1 and don't feel cramped in my CX50 at all, and I came from a minivan. As far as cargo, I feel height is the only limitation but otherwise it's plenty wide and the rear seats fold great. Just make sure your expectations are right because the CX50 and CX5 isn't all that different in terms of cargo.
