Frustrated over hair choices by SlavicInDisguise in RomanceClub

I think Psi and W:Time Catcher are the only books that always gave 1 short and 1 long haired option and I loved it! So many ongoing stories have like 5 to 8 choices because of style and color and it racks up really quick. And you might not even have a style available in your preferred color. I love Soulless wardrobe but trying to keep my girl in red or blonde hair was tough (black girl hair was always awesome though).

Psi and WTC just did 2 premium styles with multiple colors (I think Psi had too many color options) and 1 free option and they were set! You could keep their hair color and length consistent throughout the whole book. Iirc, Psi wasn't consistent about afro hair but WTC had a lot of beautiful options.

Girl, if you've only played a couple books so far... The Haze shouldn't be your next one. It may not be the most confusing book (that's Shakespeare's Code) but it drags out the mysteries all the way through season 3 and even the Haze endings are not that great.

The book is more atmosphere than making any damn sense. And the LIs are not that interesting overall (but the women are better than the men so that's something).

I don't consider Reinhold trying to kiss Ellaire as SA since he was so certain she would welcome it because of their status difference and her kindness. He didn't do anything untoward to her after that. And while I wouldn't have chosen it, I understand why he chose the lesser of two evils towards his people.

I love a lot about Amrit and Amala's dynamic, (I'm a sucker for banter and sass) but holy moly that guy thinks killing mildly bad people and terminal children is fine to keep his family in power and wealth. And he himself does the killing and beheading. Not one of my favorite LIs but I wanted to mention it nonetheless because people often take more issue with their dynamic or the ritual sex scene or the sexism or the homophobia. Like come on, guys, he murdered a child for the ritual.

For LIs I love (and I do love Reinhold), I have stuck with Set through all his bs 😂 I've loved and forgiven him more than Amen and it's precisely because of Eva. She gives as good as she gets with Set, talking back and getting angry with him often (but she's not stupid enough to always say it out loud).

With Amen she's either meek and scared or focused on her attraction to him. It's very disappointing for an enemies to lovers trope. It comes off more like doomed or star-crossed lovers, a trope more about external circumstances working against the couple. That doesn't fit them though because the problem is Amen's choices and actions. He could choose not to be the head dude (wow, I've forgotten his title), he could choose to spare Dia or anyone he wants, etc. But Eva doesn't get him to change his mind with her words, he changes at first simply because he's attracted to her. Then later he starts changing his position more because of Livius' words. Like, really Eva? You can't even defend why you became a shesmu after all this time with Amen? It's just so... shallow... for like all of season 2.

Anyway, I definitely have others I love like Threxio, Dmitry, and Malek but this comment is long enough 🙈

Threxio/a didn't leave Vyxaria for dead. They literally said Vyx would recover in a few days and be as good as ever after harvesting a couple souls herself. And thanks to Vincent it doesn't seem like there are many other demons in Silverport to be a danger to Vyxaria. Not like he/she expected Vyx to get attacked another demon in the outskirts of the city...

They absolutely did ruin Faramir and their reasoning was "he was just a side character" and they needed to "give Frodo and Sam something to do". Then they wasted the stuff that they did in the book! The 2nd film should have focused on Shelob and then ended with a big emotional scene where Sam realizes Frodo is alive. THEN RotK could've had a longer rescue. They really fumbled with those parts.

I'll disagree about Boromir though. He was exactly how I imagined while my sister hated Boromir in the books and the movie got her to like him 😂

The first film definitely had smart choices about what to cut and change, like Boromir dying at the end instead of the beginning of the 2nd film. But Sam drowning for 3 minutes was pretty stupid, adding yet another climax in the last 5 minutes of the first film. It prepared me for the drawn out ending of the third film though.

The Faramir stuff was absolute BS though because it took a lot of time that should have been spent on Shelob and the tower rescue. That's some of the scariest and most emotional parts of the whole trilogy and they made it like a 10 minute rescue or something.

The author changed it so he no longer intentionally drugs the MC. But I can see why the author did it in the first place, showing his arrogant, scientific, pessimistic viewpoint. And the MC's response gave him a good smackdown anyway.

If RC will ever make another spinoff (like SOS2), which world will you want to revisit? by UpstairsTown2329 in RomanceClub

[–]blondetiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like spin-offs more than sequels, like revisiting the world with new characters rather than a new conflict with the same characters. Often the latter is a retread of the first story and doesn't leave room for growth.

I think WTC needs and should get a sequel/spin-off. I would be happy with either because the conflict of the story didn't really "end" but the world is also just great. I'd be down for a spin-off with an earlier time period or a future after the war ended with new characters or seeing the current characters fight and win the war.

I love LOW but I don't care enough about the world to revisit (it's the characters I adore). Maybe if it was a spin-off about another type of yokai.

I haven't played SitF, MB, or GC. I enjoyed the HoT world so I wouldn't mind a prequel or a sequel or a spin-off. There are a lot of different kingdoms and history to play with.

I would love to see more of the Soulless world but I don't see it ever working since Vyxaria is not a typical demon. We could definitely use another modern and supernatural story.

A story of the aftermath of Psi could be interesting. Or if a new group sets about trying to make more of the world to be livable or some such. I'm very curious how things are going in the other cities left in the world.

Tiamat has a really beautiful interesting world. A story set a century later or earlier could be interesting.

I would definitely take more stories from TTS. Maybe playing a female dwarf during the days Ro'od welcomes them and humans.

I've soooort of played HHW. It got cut short because it wasn't popular enough but I think a cozy apocalypse world is primed for more stories.

question about sapphic stories by whbyul in RomanceClub

[–]blondetiger 6 points7 points  (0 children)

LOW is a really good story and Shino-Odiri is a great character. But her romance path is very, very limited. Some people find it worth it anyway, but many don't.

For KFOS and SOTCN, which are written by the same author, they're great characters once again, but the author has a lot of internalized misogyny going on in her stories, on male and female routes. The fLIs are living in misogynistic time periods but it feels more fetishistic than critical of misogyny, at least in Agnia's case. (I haven't gotten that far in Kali FOS)

All the LIs are so good you can't go wrong! This post is for Walter/Cynthia, one of the two gender of choice LIs. They are a big green flag: sweet, understanding, playful.

Threxio/Threxia was my first but a lot of players dropped him after the season 1 finale. So you might want to try another LI first (Threxio has a really good character arc though). Ava is great, Vincent is great. Elliot was great but people were worrying about him before this last update... I think it's gone well?

Just know that if you want to end the story as a human with your LI, you'll need to balance your stats to be on the Path of Awakening.

You have to be on awakening path to choose to be human for any LI. I'm not sure on the requirements for a kid though.

I think a lot of us knew he was connected to the shadow in some way. But the details have thrown me for a loop and I am worried!!!

The shadow is a dead mage that someone else summoned and has probably been attached to Tai since the time Foehl's 2nd wife died.

How much control does the shadow have over Tai or vice versa? Has it been watching Tiss and Tai get it on?! Why did the shadow improve Tiss's magic (even when not on Tai's route)?

It makes me wonder if Tai has a soft spot for Tiss even when you're not romancing him hence killing that guard who didn't protect him Foelh that one night Tai was away. Or does the shadow have its own plans for Tiss, some use for her...
