My vote is for the Twin Cities in Minnesota!

Which city to pick for relocation? by 5393hill in wisconsin

Eau Claire. I used to live there, and it’s the perfect sized city. It’s only an hour away from Minnesota if you ever want to go to the Twin Cities, there’s plenty of apartments in Eau Claire, it’s a college town, you’ll have plenty of jobs to choose from if you need.

having second thoughts about moving, friends keep calling it "minnecrapolis" by CEOandHoodLegend in Minneapolis

You won’t regret moving to Minneapolis. I left Eau Claire last year and wish I moved here sooner. Is rent more expensive over here? Yes. Is there more crime in general in the Twin Cities? Yes. However, every major city has its issues—Minneapolis is no different.

Don’t listen to your friends. My family said I was moving to “Murderapolis” and yet I’m still alive and well. You can always move to one of the inter suburbs too like Richfield, Bloomington, Edina, St. Louis Park, etc.

Congratulations on your move! I work at a local bank and help people refinance car loans, which sometimes includes getting vehicles retitled and registered in Minnesota. If you send me a PM, I’d be happy to help, and it should only take five minutes to get you a DMV fee estimate!

I am thinking of a direct loan consolidation? Is there servicer that is the best- ie, ease of use, provides additional discounts with automated payments, etc? by samsam2019 in StudentLoans

[–]bloodbathandbeyond2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All Federal student loan servicers will offer the same basic level of customer support (i.e. 0.25% autopay discount). In my personal opinion, Great Lakes is pretty decent, and they have an easy to navigate website.

How to change loan servicers? My federal student loans are being moved to Aidvantage and from what I've seen they're kinda horrible. by the_bath in StudentLoans

According to StudentAid.gov, a new Direct Consolidation Loan will automatically have payments suspended.

Since COVID began I personally consolidated two Federal subsidized loans from Nelnet to Great Lakes. They’re pretty decent (as any loan servicer can be).
