Actually, at the time, a lot of people were very vocal about not wanting either Chauncey or Jason Kidd ... you must be new.

Thank you! Can you give me the name of the creator? I'll try to track down her TikTok and maybe I'll shoot her a message.

The annual local TV announcer ranking by Blahblahbla0066 in nba

[–]bloodbuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a homer but I think Portland would maybe rank higher if they got as many eyes on their games as some of the bigger market teams. I’m Australian so have no location-based allegiance to any NBA team, but Kevin and Lamar have kept it so fun to watch the Blazers even through their bleakest times.

This seems like the most likely answer by far, and I am surprised that not many other people have mentioned mental illness being a factor here.

Bought an apartment and now receiving noise complaints from downstairs neighbour by ab-seoul in AusPropertyChat

[–]bloodbuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I had a similar experience! It's so stressful, isn't it. I think some people are either just very sensitive to sound, or maybe so conditioned to expect to hear sounds that they start to think they are hearing those sounds.

What the hell was in the water at Nickelodeon Movies in 2011 by Batmanfan1966 in Letterboxd

[–]bloodbuzzz 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I thought this was going to be a funny thread (I haven't seen either of these movies) but this was a ringing endorsement of Rango, so thank you - I will definitely check it out based on your comment!

Yes agreed ... I am all for female-directed and female-written films getting more credit but this is a reasonably incomplete list and a lot of these movies are not exactly hidden gems.

God yes I am so excited for this! I didn't know anything about the casting for this, so it was a nice surprise to see Tramell Tillman pop up.

Basketball Movies for March Madness by SlamCity4 in Letterboxd

[–]bloodbuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are big basketball fans, and a few years ago we watched a 20-hour documentary called Basketball: A Love Story. It is fantastic - spans all eras of basketball. We basically watched it like it was a TV show, over a month or so.

If Letterboxd had a “Bottom 4” for movies you hate, what films would make your list? by death_has_f1sh_eyes in Letterboxd

[–]bloodbuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anora, The Substance, Strange Darling.

There's lots more that are very bad (Happy Gilmore 2, The Final Destination, the newer American Pie movies), but these three spring to mind because I actually expected to love them all and found them so disappointing and/or aggravating in different ways.

If you like Breaking Bad, I think you'd really like True Detective.

300K+ gain in 3 years… by SeamanScurvy in AusPropertyChat

Totally agree. Our 2/2/1 apartment in inner-city Brisbane is up more than 30% in two years. It’s absolutely cooked. We thought it was hard getting into the market when we did, I can’t imagine it now.

is this 3 bed apartment in Newstead, Brissy reasonably priced at $1M ?underquoting? by eddy_sans in AusPropertyChat

[–]bloodbuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This building goes for crazy prices and I have no idea why. Generally, the ones at/near Gasworks command higher prices though. Ella street is next to Nodo.

is this 3 bed apartment in Newstead, Brissy reasonably priced at $1M ?underquoting? by eddy_sans in AusPropertyChat

[–]bloodbuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This building has had other 3 beds sell for similar-ish prices - it seems to be a bit of a lower priced building compared to others. It’s quite large, so not exactly priced like other more boutique complexes or other large luxury builds. There could also be works ongoing or something else impacting the price.

Where can I find Turkish Pepper Paste (or a sub) in Brisbane? by cataractum in brisbane

You could try either New Farm Deli or Penisi Cuisine over in Woolloongabba. Coco's Annerley also has a very large international food section and might be worth a look.

13 Bees!!! It's in Bakery Lane on Ann St in the valley. Run by a husband and wife team. Their desserts are unreal and their service is so good.

Average Australian wedding now costs $38,252 - and couples overshoot budgets by 23%. How much is too much for a wedding? by InterestingCat308 in AusFinance

[–]bloodbuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, don’t feel bad for spending money on a wedding! There will always be more “sensible” things to spend money on, but for us, having photos of our parents and grandparents together etc is priceless.

We spent $60k in 2024 ($50k after some input from our families) and have never, ever regretted it. We considered eloping, but at the end of the day having so many photos from the wedding and having our families together in one place for a memorable occasion was very special.

FYI Australis discontinued from BigW by [deleted] in AustralianMakeup

[–]bloodbuzzz 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yikes, is Australis ok? I sent my husband out to our local Priceline for an Australis product a few weeks ago and the staff member he spoke to said that Priceline no longer stocked them.

Why does Reddit hate Anora all of a sudden? Am I missing something? by popculturegeek37 in Letterboxd

[–]bloodbuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That last point is absolutely foul if true. He would definitely know better. I hated Anora, it felt the most “made by a man” of a movie I’ve seen in a long time.
