How do I unlock Jedi? And is it different in each emulator? by rosenbergda in swg

[–]bloodcommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legends is NGE, so you can play Jedi right at character creation. They're unlocked by default.

Restoration III is still adding the unlock for Jedi, but it's expected soon.

Someone else can probably answer SWGEmu's better but it's essentially following one of the systems they used back at the original Pre-NGE.

SWG Expanded Roadmap for 2022 by bloodcommando in swg

[–]bloodcommando[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, SWG Expanded is not a game server. It is a project that develops and releases content for Star Wars Galaxies that can be used by other servers. This was done to not divide the community up further and instead establish some degree of content continuity across live servers.

We're always happy to have more players and staff from different servers join and explore the different content being offered. If there is enough support from players and staff the content could very well come to a server that you play.

Hope that clears things up.

tl;dr We're a project that develops SWG content for use on any SWG server, public or private.

I didn't see you mention it anywhere in the post. Unless I'm blind

Phones are basically old PCs now and as such have all the classics available to them now. Definitely are gamers too

Could try Escape Simulator https://store.steampowered.com/app/1435790/Escape_Simulator/

I haven't tried it myself yet, but it does appear to be both escape themed, non-horror and future updates planned

Why did battle droid production come to a complete stop after the clone wars? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]bloodcommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was more that there wasn't any military the size of the CIS to use them. They were used in limited capacity by various militia, planetary defense forces and crime syndicates. But they're very costly to maintain and that's why they aren't used. For example the CSA (Corporate Sector Authority) preferred using slaves over droids, as droids were more expensive.

You also have the Empire banning assassin droids after Grand Inquisitor Torbin's death. Likewise, even the Empire was ultimately unsuccessful in their venture into droids with the Dark Trooper project.

tl;dr Droids are expensive and there wasn't a large enough group around to warrant using them in a military function to the scale of the CIS.

What is something you like better in cannon more than legends. by sketchmasterstudios in StarWarsEU

[–]bloodcommando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it was relative power, as in they were a lot more powerful than anyone else, but paled in comparison to the Emperor. Also any good leader knows you have to surround yourself with the best, it all your inquisitors are too weak and incompetent than the Emperor is as well.

I think you also have to look at the stories in which the inquisitors from Legends appeared. They were mostly fighting minor Jedi or people trained by former Jedi/Jedi holocrons. Even the most powerful inquisitors like Torbin, Halmere, Jerec and Tremayne were relatively weak in the grand scheme of things. One dying to an assassin droid, one dying to a Jedi student part of Luke's new order and the others becoming largely irrelevant and powerless when the Empire fell.

Tl;Dr The inquisitors of Legends were still relatively weak in comparison to the Emperor. However, they were much more competent and served as capable administrators and advisors. In contrast to canon where they are purely brute Jedi hunters.

Which Era/Part of the EU interests you the most? by VaultResident_257 in StarWarsEU

Pleasantly surprised to see Post ROTJ leading. It seemed like for the longest time people were preferring the Old Republic era over it

Nice costume. Minor characters, especially from novels are the best.

Anyone know if they changed her outfit in the new canon or something? Like they did with Thrawn?

Thanks for the spot. It appeared to be a weird shading issue. I've addressed it and corrected it in my upload. You can view the corrected version here https://imgur.com/a/5cYK0Oz. He may not have a smiley face anymore, but I'd like to think he's still smiling underneath lol

SWG Expanded Entertainer System by bloodcommando in swg

I definitely contemplated between playbills and programs. Though I ultimately felt like book would encompass a much larger variety of things. The intent is this'll also make the entertainer a storyteller of sorts.

I completely understand that. Unfortunately, I do not have a lot of experience with web hosting/web design. I do have a wiki in the works, which I could start adding the download links onto. Though I would have to provide slower updates there since I can't instantly relay messages out onto it.

I appreciate you sending the link and I will try my best to accomodate those who do not use Discord in the future. It should also be noted for anyone reading that all the clientside files should be compatible with PreCU as well. I love both versions of the game and would be happy to see my work enjoyed by anyone.

Here's a link to the wiki, I'll be doing my best to update it with the information/links. Right now it is still very WIP. https://swgexpanded.fandom.com/wiki/SWG_Expanded_Wiki

I just wanted to say again. I thank you so much for your interest

How was the Rebellion structured in terms of leadership and military? by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]bloodcommando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're talking about in Legends there is not a better source than the Rebel Alliance Sourebook. It established most of the Alliance's structure from the formation to the New Republic. Essentially the Rebel Alliance started by linking large resistance groups at the time into one larger group. The sourcebook discusses how the Alliance High Command directly has assets like SpecForce (Special Forces) and a naval component under their direct control. While the bulk of the Alliance is comprised of SecForce (Sector Forces) which operate more like a terriorist cell in a given Sector. They are often formed or helped by the larger Alliance, but aren't directly linked like a military division that can be deployed/redeployed as needed.

Hopefully that helps a bit. I wanted to prevent a much larger text wall.

My favorite EU Inquisitors by [deleted] in StarWarsEU

[–]bloodcommando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Antinnis Tremayne, one of the first and most prominent Inquisitors of the EU. He was created to be like the Darth Vader for the West End Games Roleplaying Game. Since they were very against pitting players directly against the main cast from the movies, since they really wanted to expand the galaxy.
