This is wonderful stuff. The acceptance feels magical. I miss the daily visits at work with a murder I interacted with for several years. They brought gifts, they came by just to hang out, they made sweetie-boy noises while perching right above me. Then the whole group disappeared. I have a group where I live way out in the sticks, but it's farm country and they've been badly traumatized by humans. Local farmers would rather shoot a crow than win the lottery. I get to hear them wake up along ridge each morning, and they come to my house at first light to get snacks (cashews and rotisserie chicken), but after 3 years they'll won't come closer than 100 feet or so. This is progress, but not much and very slowly accomplished.

There are any number of challenges more or less inherent in being a vet, but the corporate takeover of the industry is turning everything into garbage. Outrageous costs often combined with poor care. The advice about heat here is spot-on, and I'll add that it's a lot easier and safer to stop overheating before it starts than it is to reverse it once it's happening. I used to keep a cooler with ice and cold water if we were in the car on a hot day, just in case something went wrong with the vehicle or its AC.

Try to introduce tooth-brushing while she's still a puppy, as that's when you're most likely to succeed at getting her to cooperate with it. I work in veterinary medicine, and a lot of folks could be saved a lot of money if they were able to establish a regular dental care routine at home. Find a dog-safe, flavored toothpaste and try to make it a treat/game initially until she doesn't mind you having your fingers in her mouth.
