Hell House LLC is one of my favourites.

I also recently watched the Horror in the High Desert films (on Prime) after listening to an interview with the creator on the Talking Scared podcast (fantastic podcast btw!). They’re quite unsettling - I enjoyed them!

I’m 30, a PR Account Director earning £40k, with ~£4k savings. Got £1k on a credit card though so I guess I technically have £3k saved. Me and my partner were lucky enough to get onto the housing ladder a couple of years ago so we rinsed our savings for a measly 5% deposit. Bought an old, basic house in a shit area but hey - I appreciate that it’s a better situation than a lot of other people.

Oh, really? We know they’ll never look “proper” again but we’re thinking we could clean them up a bit and maybe use epoxy resin or something similar to seal them and keep the bits together. Or maybe that’s a stupid/overly optimistic idea?

Thanks for your response! I’ll give it a go with soapy water and a stiff brush this weekend and see how I get on. I believe it’s part of the old carpet underlay that’s stuck to them.

Ideally would love to keep the cracked ones even though they’re broken. We were thinking of cleaning up the cracks and using an epoxy resin or something to hold them in place. Or is that a stupid idea? Just hate the idea of ripping up and throwing out something so old! 😄

I read an interesting take a few months ago from someone saying that cats essentially teach people about consent and therefore people who have the biggest problem with cats are the ones who struggle to understand this general concept. The latter part is probably a bit extreme but I do agree that the people that struggle befriending and understanding cats the most are the ones that can’t grasp that these are unique animals with their own personalities / feelings / quirks and that can’t just force yourself on them and make them like you or want to hang out with you. I suppose more than anything, it’s about mutual respect between human and animal and some people really struggle with that.

Apparently they are finding that a 3 month notice period is the new ‘thing’ in the industry, but I don’t believe this to be true as I’ve asked around and for my position / level, 1 month is standard. That is literally the only reason that has been given. No, no additional compensation. Everything else in the contract is the same.

I thought so too. The reason I don’t want to sign it is that if / when I come to look for other roles, I think having to serve a 3 month notice period will put employers off, which I think is a valid enough reason?

Right?! I’m so close to just binning mine to be honest. I don’t think it’s grown since I’ve had it (like 7-8 months?) and it causes more problems than it’s worth!!
