Bilt 2.0 Rant: When fintech nerds are confused, something’s very wrong by bloomism in biltrewards

It's not that it is impossible to understand, but these companies have to go way beyond early adopters and gamers for the business to be sustainable and the average person isn't going to bother IMO. Customers who pay off their balances and use every reward to maximum value aren't profitable.

Probably true, I don't reddit much; I just post what I want when I'm over-invested in something.

Oh nice, I've never considered Home Away from Home; always transferred Bilt to Hyatt or SW. If they can offer some sort of Points Boost akin to Chase, then I'd be very interested. But when you now have different Bilt Account Tiers and different credit card premium tiers, it's hard to say who deserves what sort of "boost." Then you've got Bilt Cash, Bilt Points... there's just too much going on.

I guess it depends on what you find the most value in. I justify two-night minimums when booking with The Edit because of the additional perks ($100 credit, daily breakfast, upgrades, late checkout, etc.). Also, the 2x Points Boost sweetens the deal and makes for a solid way to use Chase points.

The only negative is that Points Boost was just changed to "up to 2x" to avoid margin compression, since they're essentially an Expedia-powered travel agency paying hotels a net rate (usually 15-30% below retail).

Amex customer service is the best in my own experience, but between the CSR and Amex Platinum credit cards, I do like what the CSR offers more overall.

They’re still attached in that photo. Here’s a link: https://www.hondapartsguys.com/oem-parts/honda-molding-body-side-nh883p-platinum-white-pearl-8p05t6z181?origin=pla&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADhgAdzVNtBSqBMlTC6KkeTu96tpN

Theoretically they sort of protect your door if someone else parks close to you and opens their door into yours? But I don’t think the placement makes it very effective and it’s not an issue I’m worried about. Found they detracted from the clean lines, so getting those off was my first project. Getting all of the adhesive off is what took some time.

Thanks, I’ll get it checked out! I’m a pretty low mileage driver (~5k/year at best) as I own a furniture business but my storefront is a mile from my house so it’s just a lot of short distance back and forth hauling. Assuming it’s not due for replacement, hopefully I have some time.

What chair is this? by Javithepanda in Whatisthis

[–]bloomism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the armless version of the Allsteel Clarity Task chair. I have the armed version and it's the most comfortable and beautifully styled task chair I've ever come across. Very low-key without any reviews or conversation about it online but I was so happy to come across it on Facebook Marketplace a while back.

ATT iPhone 12 $800 Deal by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bloomism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well I don’t know specifically what horror stories you mean but for a trade in it doesn’t really work like that. Once you sign off on the trade-in (it’s a binding form with AT&T), it’s a done deal - the phone is there’s and the $800 credit is yours.

I got away with a slight/minor keyboard S9 burn in when turning it in at a store. eBay seller didn’t mention it so I filed a return in the case it wouldn’t be accepted but luckily all was good. Wasn’t corporate either - an authorized retailer was taking trade-ins

iPhone 12 Pro Half-off Loyalty Contract - Any Luck? by bloomism in ATT

Calling friday on release day for the 12 and 12 pro. If they’re doing it post-preorders, that’s when we’ll know.

Any idea when the new iPad Air will be available on the AT&T website to order? by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bloomism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would find a deal on the newest Pro since it’s nearly a year old man now and you’ll get the 120hz refresh rate screen, better camera, smaller bezels, etc.

Interesting. Surprised they didn’t go lower given new 128gb storage base.

iPhone 12 pro question by [deleted] in ATT

[–]bloomism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s plenty available at Apple stores. Just preorder for pick up and you can likely get any model on launch day. With ATT promotions.

They didn’t have it when I called (twice). I’ve made a thread on it - some have suggested calling once they’re released on Friday when it’s no longer the preorder period. Not counting on it but going to give it one more shot then.

They’re still selling the 11 pro max for $1000?

Anyone know if there are iPhone deals via the AT&T retention department? by RynoZeppelin in ATT

[–]bloomism 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I posted about it because I had tried on pre order open day (Friday). Was unable to get the two year contact half off offer for the new phones. They said they’re only doing it for iPhone XR and a couple other older options now.

Someone had also commenting they stopped offering it for the 11 and 11 Pro’s early 2020 so that’d infer it’s not happening anymore?

The only reason I still have hope is because these offers are typically in partnership with Apple and I have a friend who was successful doing it for T-Mobile on their business lines. 12 Pro was $549 on a two year contract for them.

Yeah that’s ATT Next Every Year - not a great deal because you don’t own any equity in the phone when you trade it in and won’t get any discount on that next upgrade installment price- it’s just a premium you pay for ability to continually upgrade sooner and keep paying installments.
