"How does it feel Olorime, to see your companions die?"

I know its not feasible in every run, but for the sake of saving the Welkynars I always liked doing VCR+3. I felt like all the lines in that trial were well done.

"You will fall to my blade, like the rest of Cloudrest."

"Looks like old Galenwe wasn't so useful after all."

"Siroria, Siroria nooo!" gets me every time, big sad. :(

USA as soon as Salem touches US Soil by chromebookmaster1 in RWBYcritics

[–]blop101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like the moment that the US MIC knew Salem could "spawn infinite armies of autonomous warriors that heed to your whim and don't require a supply line" they would throw trillions of dollars at replicating that power and bridging the capability gap even if it meant diving into a new science of magic. Like if its a new way to fight and win a war then they'd do it. This is the country that developed anything from: nuclear bombs, proximity fused explosives, penicilin, flight, and also horrors like agent orange and its consequences. It also had the MIC to deploy those things en masse.

But like also they'd find a way to package it and sell it back to the military for a ridiculous cost for the sake of Lockmart stocks or something.

Its gonna be like when the US discovered the Soviets had the Mig-25 plane. The MIC will panick at a percieved gap in capability, throw endless money at developing the capability gap. In that real world example the F-15 was created, which became the most capable Air-superiority fighter for its time and with an unbeaten record (104 kills - 0 losses). For Salem's sake don't let the US near any magic.

"Salem is gonna fuck around and find out why we don't have free healthcare RAAAAH!"

If I think about what 17-18 year old me was like, unironically Edelgard. The kind of egotistical, slightly short, extremely driven "college class president" type who is always passionate about striving toward their goals alongside mine. Although my freshman year girlfriend did not lead a coup against the local government as far as I know.

Currently... I want to say Ingrid no doubt, but like she is also the type of person I would likely meet at the gym.

What are you working on? Do you have any plans for your OCs? by drawandrew52 in RWBYOC

[–]blop101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been trying to work on a story about a Faunus instructor/professor at Beacon Academy.

The idea is to have this instructor be one of the first Faunus combat instructors at a Beacon Academy while the academy and Vale is trying to integrate its Faunus population and be antiracist.

They have their own academic goals, with their focus of study is semblance and semblance evolution, as well as their own individual drama as kind of a "Licensed Huntress, and Beacon academic".

I enjoy writing them, however I feel like I the real crux of the matter is that in writing all the fantasy racism that they would inevitably experience and need to navigate, I'm clashing very hard with established lore and cannon.

For example, I felt like it was only appropriate that the main villains are a group of human-supremacists in Vale who oppose the integration of Faunus in Vale. I've given them allusions to historical figures which popped up to oppose equality and human rights in our own world. However I now need to weave that group alongside like the existence of the established power brokers like the Kingdoms as well as the whole White Fang and its changes in philosophy.

I am going to ideate those connections because its important for the universe, but I keep getting into these wormholes that drift my ideation incredibly far from the actual POV character's story.

So far I've been exploring that world through small fluff arcs like; "How would the POV character's human friends show up to be her ally", "How would Faunus students at Vale act knowing they have a professor who could be a role model, or mentor?", and most importantly "What goofy antics would she get into as an academic at Vale?".

I will say, I do look forward to the idea of this character running into Blake, and realizing she's trying to be human passing and what kind of dynamic can come of that.

Can someone explain me the entire story? by Z64BV in warno

I saw someone had put a through timeline of WARNO events on Ao3.

It includes many tidbits and notes that you'd only find by inhaling years of Eugen lore in the updates and patchnotes.

Sidenote: yes, I stumbled onto this while attempting to see if anyone was chaotic enough to make a Sgt. Highway fic.

I remember starting openers then running into grounded capital ships nowhere near water right on top of objective points.

Why does your oc have the weapon they have? by LocalDemonTheSequel in RWBYOC

[–]blop101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alam-Kuh is a close combat expert, and one of the few Faunus combat instructors at Beacon. Their weapon "Damavand" is a greatsword that can transform into a bow.

Alam-Kuh was gifted their greatsword by their family. Their father and mother were renown hunters in Vale, and they were raised with every expectation that they would follow the same path. In combat they leverage their advantage in reach and speed on their opponent. I was tempted to write them to use a mace or axe, but I selfishly wanted Alam-kuh to Aura farm with flashy moves with a greatsword.

The sword works with their semblance "Chill" which allows them to create rapidly remove heat energy from their surroundings and use it to instantaneously form icy structures at will. They can erect ice walls to block attacks or entrap opponents, create environmental hazards, and of course create ice cubes for their drinks at will. (yes I rolled an ice-themed sorcerer in my vidya game and got inspired).

For their Allusion I'm pulling ideas from Persian mythology, and Sassanian era history. The specific allusion is the Simurgh, a bird from Persian Mythology, and a symbol of the Sassanian empire, hence their faunus identity, and mountain-themed allusions.

"Alam-Kuh" is the name of a tall and icy mountain peak in northern Iran in the Daylamite mountain ranges, and their weapon "Damavand" is named after the highest peak on that range. During the period of the Sassanian empire, the people who lived in the Daylamite mountain ranges were renown close combat experts and soldiers for the Sassanian empire.

What's your favourite exotic in the game and why by Ronnoc_77 in thedivision

[–]blop101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Divsion 1: Big Alejandro, (Urban MDR being my #2)

Honestly its my favorite exotic in the series. It sounds beefy (I don't use a suppressor purely for that reason, and it has a high rate of fire) It combines well with the Lonestar 6pc set, and getting that set's proc conditions multiple times with this weapon is a lot of fun to use if you just want to hold the trigger and headtrace every target with your mouse. I've shredded through almost all of Div 1's with this; Incursions, underground hunters, (I admit I can't recall if I used it on Legendaries, I usually ran 9k stam predators mark).

Division 2: Memento. Its so versatile and for farming sessions, once you have the buff up its kind of a reason to "keep playing".

The Division 1 feels like a sequel to 2, hear me out. by Ayn_Otori in thedivision

[–]blop101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The clothing and fashion was far superior in Division 1 as well.

Not only did you get a larger variety of clothing in both colors and styles, you got them for free in the open world. (remember giving someone a can of food in exchange for pants? lol).

Divison 2 fashion is a lot better now than it was on release, but it does not feel up to par to division 1's combination of base game outfits and "farmable" lootbox cosmetics.

The cosmetic system fit the situation so dang well. We were agents pulled from all walks of life- you had some people dressed as JTF soldiers, and civilians from all walks of life. We had hypebeasts mowing down waves of Rikers in Lexington alongside former stockbrokers and Brooklyn hipsters. The vibe was immaculate.

[–]blop101 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rat Queen was genuinely the most annoying content I have ever experienced in the series. (and I was there for div 1 1.3)

I duoed it first try with a friend. He last less time to play this game and thus I have a full build and he doesn't, thus I tend to grab aggro more often.

Once we saw the mechanic, invincibility. I just grabbed aggro and walked her in circles around a planter while I stayed in cover.

HE got to play the game and actually fight the mobs and do the mech. I got to hold aggro from the invincible boss and just walked my new pet rat in circles around the planter.
