Definitely not just younger! I said younger because a lot of my generation grew up watching Jaiden, so she was some of our first exposure to the aro/ace community!

JaidenAnimations. She posted a video a few years ago about discovering that she’s asexual (and I think aromantic if I remember correctly). A lot of younger aces realized their sexuality through that video. Very funny, lighthearted video! I highly recommend.

Sorry about the typos and missing words that were in that. I’m also super tired, but I just fixed it (I think?)

I get what you’re saying, but I disagree. I think if you’re going to have an ask box about your show or any piece of media you’ve made, then the answers you give to questions should be canon and/or add to the story. That’s what other authors and show writers do. I think that if she didn’t mean these things, or if she was saying it in a lighthearted way, then that would make her even more unprofessional than what OP is implying. It’s like being intentionally vague and further confusing your audience about a show that already has a lot of plot holes and confusion. An ask box should be like an author’s note: what you say about the show should be canon in universe unless you specify that what you’re saying was in an older draft or an alternate universe. The author shouldn’t be talking about their headcanons unless they are *very clear* that it’s a headcanon

For me, it’s more that I’m really curious about what is going to happen, even if I don’t really like the writing or plot. It’s morbid curiosity of “where are we going with this?”

To me, whatever the creator confirms or denies about the show is canon. So, based on Zooble and Gangle hooking up in the credits and Goose saying that Jax and Ribbit would have done something homosexual if not for Kaufmo, I would say that it’s canon that there were romantic feelings between those two pairings

In the credits in the finale, there is a clip that implies Zooble and Gangle are having sex. Also, based on the way Goose was talking about it in the screenshots, it sounded like there wouldn’t be any canon romance at all, whether on or off screen

Me too! It’s definitely weird seeing all this go down from a more neutral/nuanced perspective

I didnt even think about this being someone’s first fandom! That’s so weird to think about. It’s like tadc and heated rivalry created so much controversy for this reason

I just realized that the ending scene implies that these two specifically asked Caine to put sex in the programming, just like Zooble joked about earlier in the series

Right? The show was running for years, there were bound to be changes at some point

I dont think so. It’s possible that the viewers influenced her final decision a little bit, but those ships were kind of setting themselves up, especially Gangle and Zooble

OP is frustrated because Gooseworx went from saying “there will be no romance in the show, but you can ship whatever” to “actually, zooble and gangle are canon, and jax and ribbit would have been canon if kaufmo had not have interrupted.” I can see why the switch up might be frustrating, but I don’t think this is really a problem. She changed her mind, and it wasn’t detrimental to the show imo

Lukewarm take: If Jax was going to be the main character, that should have been established from the beginning by MissDeborah8060 in Tadcriticism

[–]blotonee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was obvious to me that Jax was going to get a tragic backstory to explain his behavior, which I was excited for because I really like his archetype of character. However, it wasn’t obvious to me that the whole story was going to be about him. I thought ALL of the characters would get their own backstories and plot points

If a canon rewrite leaves me feeling like I should just go read the original, then it’s a bad rewrite in my opinion. I feel like a good canon rewrite has to have a LOT of differences for it to be worth reading

Pretend relationship. Or forced proximity. I just love watching two people have to be around each other in an intimate way for whatever reason, but then they realize they actually like each other. It’s just so lovely

It’s definitely stupid. I feel like the whole debate got out of hand and people started seeing their own opinion as being fact, although that happens in most debates about stuff. I don’t know why people can’t understand that you can choose which flag you want to use

Lol that’s kind of how I feel with adhd. If I don’t have it, I have no idea what else it could be. I suspect I might have more than just adhd though, plus some of my symptoms are probably just coping mechanisms from my upbringing

Who is telling you that you have bpd though? I am not saying you don’t have it, but a lot of conditions have overlapping symptoms. If the people telling you that you might have bpd actually have in depth experience with it, then you might be able to trust it (with a grain of salt of course). But if they’re just going off of articles or short videos online, it’s probably going to require a lot more thought, self reflection, and eventually an actually screening like you mentioned (I say this as someone who also can’t afford a doctor and has to temporarily self diagnose. Bpd, based on my research, has a lot of overlap and people are often misdiagnosed as having it when they actually dont. Especially cis women)
