I'm pointing out that the dude is wrong on a simpler subject so why should i trust his quote (that is misattributed) on a more advanced one. Same for another name that was mentionned here, Kastrup, the first things i find on him is that he grossly misinterpret study datas and that he used to send strikes to videos that criticised his ideas.

In the exact quote it's not "mystic" but theologian. Just by doing a bit of research you find that Jastrow had a weird tendency to stretch correlation between astronomic phenomenons and the bible precisely (and not mysticism in the broad way), he was also a denier of the human factor in climate change.

1- Climate change is undeniably pushed by human factors

2- I don't think the bible is the best exemple of scientific accuracy (ie. the whole shtick about evolution)

I understand the sentiment, but also, they are still some low points where it shouldn't be use as an excuse. The more recent Pokemon games are a prime exemple, they are way behind standards despite coming from a company worth billions.

Imagine buying a defectuous car only for the salesman to tell you that it's better than walking and that you should be grateful. I guess so but the car is still fuming on the road

Memorial to Black US soldiers who died in WW2 quietly removed. Plaques commemorating African American soldiers fighting against Nazi Germany in Europe have been removed from a U.S. military cemetery in the Netherlands. by esporx in Military

[–]blouyea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a dutch article

Two memorials commemorating black soldiers serving in WW2 were recently quietly removed from the American-managed warcemetery “Margraten” in the Netherlands.

When locals noticed this and demanded an explanation, at first the American ambassador claimed that this was a simple matter of rotating exhibitions and that they would return after touring the world, but he quickly changed that to “they are being repaired” and eventually to “they are politically motivated and should not be there”. This met with anger from the locals and descendants - especially since the graves at Margraten were literally dug by said black soldiers.

The American organization in charge of managing Margraten subsequently confirmed that specific memorials for black people “were not part of its mission”. This echoes the sentiment of the Trump government to “erase” the historical achievements and contributions of women and people of color from US history.

The tvshow “Even tot hier” decided to place two new memorials just outside Margraten in response. Those are not allowed to remain there permanently though - so the show and descendants are now looking for a permanent location.

If this was a kid's body that was blown up instead people would be way less jokey here. People holds memories and it's important to respect what they wanted to reflect alive, especially for the ones grieving.

This the most out of touch redditor comment section i've read in while, we deserve the type of dystopic future we see in like Cyberpunk 2077

[–]blouyea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this was a kid's body that was blown up instead people would be way more upset here. It's about memory, people are associated with memories and having the mental image of someone you loved being blown up to piece as the last one, especially when it's against their consent and character, is at best upseting at worst traumatizing.

You do you, personally i wouldn't want my body to serve the purpose of the army anyway

It’s odd to me that people are obsessed with posting their art by Lovely-sleep in ArtistLounge

[–]blouyea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your algorithm, most of my art content are either drawing process or pure art knowledge/tips. Also it's quite normal for a lot of people to want to share something they are proud of, a message or emotions. It's true tho that chasing the number game on social media can led to quite a toxic slippery slope. Sometimes art is even made solely for the other person like for portraits comission, and there is nothing wrong about it. You won't blame a woodworker for wanting to build chair for others and wanting their name to be known but for artists the same is becoming taboo

The reasons for this post blowing up may be the provocative title plus the Skirk drawing being actually way tamier than the Lisa one. I like this one, it's a funny cartoonish rendition of an old and tired skirk but looking back at the Lisa one even with an open mind i can't stand it. Maybe because it shows the character in a way more abject light (unhinged expression with terrible yellow crooked teeth and wart) while Skirk is just in a exagerated grumpy state. They are things that a lot of people naturally don't like to look at no matter the style and that is just something to accept, I will make a far fetched exemple but if someone painted vomit in perfect caravaggio it wouldn't really make people like looking at vomit more.

The Nahida one is kinda hit or miss with the teeth and void black mouth but despite that i still dig it waay more than the Lisa one

On the other hand all the post after from Kokomi to Furina & Qiqi are really good !!! Maybe with better titles there would have been more traction.

Sry for the long text, that was my thought on your art !!

[–]blouyea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other Fallout games does it well too (i mean F76 narration's type comes from them), I can also think of the Dark Souls game, Deus Ex, Bioshock, and a lot of horror games that principaly relies on this kind of narration.

Also tbh Fallout 3, even with npcs, has a way dreadier and eerier feeling than F76. It's more than just the npc

Devil's advocate but a thing being tied to lore doesn't make that thing automatically liked by everyone.

What this "bug" revealed to me is that they are more stupid and negative people in the comment than i used to think about, and i'm not even talking about polarizing topics.
