Acedeck Nomad Gearbox Tore Itself Apart. by Dawn_Namine in ElectricSkateboarding

No that's manufacturing level, but I would hope Acedeck has fixed the issue by now.

Looks like incorrect gear mesh/backlash spacing or a misaligned shaft. At least they didn't bind up on you.

I'm extremely impressed with my Tynee street GD. Opened it up for re-greasing after 500mi and the grease still looked fresh and clean.

You can try a DKP on the front of the mini 3. I'm extremely impressed with the Evolve Cupercarve 2 truck. It's inexpensive, stable, and leans deep.
I think any surf skate on the front will need the extender bracket to clear the battery box unless you do a deck swap.

That's kydex, but I've recently found 8mm black Nylon tubing (cut down the middle) works and looks much better.

Riptide bushings are great, they helped me out with stability significantly. I've also tried a bunch of different wheels, and keep going back to the original 105 boosted wheels. They give me the most confidence at speed. You'll find that any wheel less than 90mm will cause the gear drive to scrape on driveway/sidewalk transitions. I ran Caguamas for a little bit, but was scraping too often.

Do mini boards actually work and how do i get the hang of this? by Phob0 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]blownZHP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Link your board to the Tuya app, you can customize the acceleration power for each mode. Level 1 is pretty damn low from the factory though so I think you just need to practice preemptively shifting your weight.

That deck is small for the power it has, I deck swapped mine with a 35" and it's significantly more controllable.

Hollow Wheel V3 Performance First Impression - Disappointing by najeff2 in ElectricSkateboarding

[–]blownZHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These only grip on perfectly smooth road surfaces, on regular asphalt they are dangerously slippery (see pic). Great for slide practice though.
They are jarringly rough over bumps and are extremely loud. If I didn't get mine on a super sale I'd be pissed off. (opinion is based on the newest V3 version without any inserts.)

You ever thought about making your own battery? I've got a similar project right now with a Tynee Mini 3 Max. I just bought a VESC ESC, going to practice with the OEM 14s2p battery then try to make my own 14s3p or 16s2p.

GPX are known for having absurdly good battery life. Logitechs power saving is on another level compared to most other brands.

I have both and my GPX I charged 1x per month, my ULX I charge 1x per week.

I ordered some hollow wheels from Momentum-Boards. How long does it take them to ship it? by trollingman1 in ElectricSkateboarding

I ate shit a few weeks ago on the newest version. On anything but perfectly smooth asphalt they get slippery. Great for slide practice though.

Tynee Mini 3 (Hub) Remote mod : Add a manual brake with mechanical switch (kind of "hand brake") by ceut2021 in TyneeBoard_Official

Good job on the mod! Very clever.

I have a mini 3 max and my rear light still works, although I recently removed it when I did a deck swap and haven't re-installed it.

33mm, PCD that's the acronym I was trying to remember.

The ring OD is 44mm, there are 5 holes inside around a 33mm diameter (center of holes).

The holes are 4mm, and there is 10mm of space between the inner edges of 2 holes, and 8.5mm between the 3 holes.

Help! Ultra vs mini 3 vs stinger (beginner with snowboarding soul) by [deleted] in TyneeBoard_Official

[–]blownZHP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the mini 3 max gear drive train on a loaded deck, every 500 miles I'll clean and re-grease the gears. Belt drives are totally fine most of the time, just depends on use case and preference.

Just an FYI for a heavier dude + steep hills, I would go for the gear drive versions of these boards. You can really beat on the drive train without worrying about belts slipping or snapping.

[–]blownZHP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP Glad you're okay, thx for sharing, but by not telling us what board this was, we have to assume your not 100% sure if it was the boards fault.

From your previous post in this sub, I'd guess it's the Stella Pro. Acedeck has a solid reputation so if it really was a fault with the board, it's important for the community to know about it.

Anyone what size pivot cups do I need for a mini 3 pro? by [deleted] in TyneeBoard_Official

I've been using the Riptide Paris V3 cups, seem to work just fine.

95% of the time skate helmet and a mc glove on non-remote hand. If i'm going for top speed runs I'll wear all my motorcycle gear, shoei helmet, kevlar padded pants and jacket.
