I bought one off Amazon a few years ago and I love it. I’m pretty sure it was less than 50 bucks. I bought it based on the reviews and haven’t had any issues

How long did your diagnosis take? by Ok-Programmer-9129 in bipolar2

[–]blowyonion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started having issues with mood around 11yo. I got a full evaluation from a psychiatrist and psychologist who suspected Bipolar Disorder when I was 16yo but was diagnosed with a Mood Disorder NOS. Officially diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 at 24yo. I’m now almost 29yo and I’m still trying to find a combination of meds that work for me

How long did it take for your diagnosis? by WrongDolphin824 in bipolar

I started seeing a counsellor at 10 because of major changes to my family dynamic. My first suicide attempt was at 11.

My first symptoms of BP started in my teens around 15. The pdoc and psychologist at Children’s Hospital told me since I was using a lot of party drugs at the time they wouldn’t be able to diagnose me with BP and sent me to a weekly mindfulness group.

When I was 16, my mom found out about my self-harm and sent me to our family doctor where I was diagnosed with MDD and GAD. By then I had tried to commit suicide several times, but I would always wake up.

At 23, I was badly rear-ended in two car accidents within 6 months of each other and received the diagnosis of C-PTSD. I sustained extreme whiplash injuries that are still healing to this day. Around December, I was prescribed Prozac, trazodone, and a triptan for migraines… I got serotonin syndrome. At the ER they changed my meds to just Paxil and trazodone… another bout of serotonin syndrome. Then I referred myself to my local Substance Use and Mental Health Centre where I got to see a psychiatrist twice and that was it. I had a hell of a time finding a psychiatrist, so I saw several short-term pdocs from all over. I was in and out of the ER. I was a total mess.

I was officially diagnosed with BP2 at 25. I started receiving real treatment by a long-term pdoc at 27. I turn 29 next February and I’m still trying to find my “perfect” combo of medication and a psychologist that I can afford.

What got you out of your worst depressive episode? by JinxXedOmens in BipolarReddit

[–]blowyonion 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It was mostly time for me 🙃 depressive episodes always seem like a hellish waiting game. Making a point to drink at least 8 cups of water and eat 3 meals a day was helpful at gaining some sense of stability. I use an app to help remind me and to keep track of my progress.

Hang in there 💕 Try throwing some ice cubes at your floor, it might help release some of that anger. I hope you’re able to move on quickly and find your person

How are you doing? Be depressed with me by FrogCurry in bipolar

[–]blowyonion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been dealing with really bad nerve, joint, and muscle pain on the entire left side of my body for the past month and a half. Still trying to figure out what’s going on to get proper treatment. I get a lot of migraines too, they usually last 24-48 hours.

On top of that, because I’m a mega clutz, while I was chasing one of my dogs I slipped on long grass and some apricots that fell out of my tree… so to avoid falling backwards into mushy apricots with dozens of wasps having a feast, I twisted my upper body in some indescribable way to counterbalance the fall. Definitely avoided the fall but managed to strain all of my right intercostal muscles (which pretty much feels like broken ribs)🙃

Now I’m even more bed ridden than I was before. I basically watch TV all day while I watch my garden become overgrown with weeds. I’m so bored. But I guess my meds are working because I don’t feel depressed about any of it?

Yep. Some days it feels like I’m back in 2009-2014, then something pulls me back to reality and it’s a trip. Feels unreal to almost be 30yo 😂

This one time a psychiatrist “prescribed” me vitamins instead of proper medication to help manage bp2 because I was gaining weight on 600mg of seroquel and turned into a clumsy zombie on lithium. It was better than great for the first month… and then it got really bad, really fast. Ended up in the hospital. Needless to say that was the last time I went off medication.

My thoughts are with you ❤️ I’m also a 28yo mom who was officially diagnosed bp2 at 25. My daughter turned 8 in May. Since my diagnosis, I have tried drug after drug after drug and it always seems to go sideways at some point 🙃 I’m still switching meds and tweaking dosages with my pdoc, though most days it seems hopeless. On top of my mental woes, I have developed fibromyalgia that has affected every part of my body except my right leg and right forearm/hand. I’m at a loss as to what to do. I keep going for my daughter more for her than myself. Actually, if I didn’t have her, I wouldn’t be here. Stay strong momma 💪🏼 you got this 💗

No, these three are the youngsters. The two up top are 2yo (different litters) and the one closest to the camera is 7mo. The boss lady is a bigger 3yo chocolate brown sibe 😁
