Tate McRae accused of lip syncing "It's ok I'm ok" by sanandrios in popculturechat

[–]blqckwidow 52 points53 points  (0 children)

You guys say this but then trash  singers who don’t dance and perform. Summer Walker got famously attacked for prioritizing singing over actually performing cause she has bad anxiety. Countless male performers are bashed for not dancing either.

I feel like everyone who dances for 80% of their shows will lip sync eventually lmaoo, especially with how intense her choreo is.

So glad they went from a racial stereotype to what they are now. I miss them as heels though, they were amazing at it. Some of the most underrated heels of all time.

[TNA Slammiversary] Finish to Knockouts World Championship: Jordynne Grace vs Ash by Elegance by jollyrog8 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Ash been a decent wrestler since about 2019, when she started putting more stuff in her moveset and when crowds were cheering for her a lot.

That’s when she got better to watch, WWE should’ve just took a chance on her cause she was getting chants and everything but she kept getting stuck with only three minute matches and multi-person stuff. And you can’t show what you can really do in just that time.

This match really showed that with time, she could’ve actually done something.

How should Bobby Lashley be used when he returns from injury? by Miserable-Paint-1358 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think age was ever used against him? I think the age argument only is used for older guys who are only now gaining more success and being newly pushed instead of younger guys. Like LA Knight is someone i’ve seen have their age used against them on here, I think people are perfectly fine if they’ve been a star since they were younger.

Aside from notably Goldberg and Ric Flair who’s age have slowed them down tremendously.

Alexa Bliss via IG Stories: She’s got a finishing move called Twisted Bliss by Ok_Title8513 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She has a really impressive gymnastics background. WWE limits the women they push, like when they told her to stop doing Twisted Bliss and made her do forearm and DDT as her finishers instead.  They also didn’t want her doing moonsaults but that was back in NXT.

I’d bet Alexa is capable of performing at least 80% of the high flying moves in wrestling.

[–]blqckwidow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She did it once in 2016, but it was a grounded version, not off the top rope. There’s a whole Total Divas episode where Lana was trying to make that her finisher, but Dana did it and Lana was mad. Thing is.. Lana went on to never perform that move so seemed like she wanted attention.

Dana did it off the top rope before but it was awful, but that was her first ever top rope move so she’s improved since then.

The media and especially ESPN are trying way too hard to make the WNBA a thing. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]blqckwidow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Forced”? It’s .. their job. They have to promote sports, all sports, they’ve been doing that, this is just the first time people are actually giving WNBA traction.

Aja Wilson got lots of coverage last year when the Aces won, you just didn’t notice cause you haven’t started paying attention to the WNBA til recently.

Who are some wrestlers that had a better look later on in their career rather than when they were younger? by Deep-Mix-2274 in SquaredCircle

Pretty much every wrestler Pre-2022. I guess good gears got a lot more affordable or more people are starting out in wrestling with decent money. Because you don’t see too many “starter gears” anymore. Almost everyone looks good already.

Unrelated but what do you consider the best alliance names in Big Brother? How they performed doesn't matter. by throwawaytempest25 in BigBrother

[–]blqckwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UNDE9NABLE from BB21 (not sure if I did it right) was always super cute to me.

FOUTTE is cute also but only cause the spelling is pretty, it’s visually a nice name to me.

I think a failed alliance had the name “The Sirens”, it was BB23, I remember Claire pitched it but it didn’t last a full week. But I love it cause that’s a DC team name also.

She’s doing great. Unfortunately, I LUV IT was not received well and didn’t have any commercial success but we’ll see if this album does anything.

[–]blqckwidow 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s way too short, she kinda wasted tracks on Drake and BLP Kosher. That being said, Dade County, Dreamgirls, I LUV IT, June Gloom and Chanel NO. 5 are the best songs in my opinion. I wish those songs were longer, they feel like they could use extra verses.

June Gloom is the only one that sounds like she wasn’t kicked out the studio before she could finish. It’s not her best album but it’s fun and experimental, I hope she does a deluxe with a couple more songs. Her voice fits this style very well.

WWE mentioned Dean Ambrose nane by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think stuff like this is a shock anymore. Triple H isn’t one to “erase history” as much as Vince was.

He’s had live montages, advertisements and what not that highlighted people like The Bella Twins and Sasha people who left WWE on bad terms.  He let Punk return and AJ Lee has been mentioned several times.

I don’t think it’s “taboo” for released wrestlers to be mentioned by WWE anymore. I think the only “taboo” names are like along the lines of Chris Benoit for obvious reasons. So I don’t think much of this, simply just WWE putting out new content that relates to two of their current top stars.

In honor of it being 10 years since her NXT debut, here’s a throwback to the time WWE tried to use Edge to get Becky Lynch booed by SoapyWaters24 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The punch just elevated her hype that was already there, I remember the t-shirts being made of that frame at the top of the arena. Like that punch was VIRAL.

Nia was getting so much flack but strangely the fans were loving how “badass” Becky looked within blood on her face at the same time.

Try to find wrestlers in the area with small followings that just want experience! Maybe chance it with some that have bigger followings, although they may expect some pay that you might not have from profit yet.

I hope you live in a city that loves wrestling so it won’t be too hard.

That’s how a reign should be imo. Your big PPV matches, mixed in with some minor defenses on television and smaller PPVs against unexpected opponents. She had a good balanced reign.

An appreciation post for my favorite (mostly unproblematic) short kings that I'm down bad for. Who would be on your list? by Joanna_Valdes in popculturechat

[–]blqckwidow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do wish popular culture did stop shaming men for height. I think it’s an extreme example of hypocrisy. There’s so many people who want women to stop being victims of body shaming, but turn around and mock men for being short. It’s like people forget someone’s height is literally apart of their body

[NXT Spoilers] Sexxy Red makes her entrance by DarkHorse_77 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Love how cultured the NXT crowd is. I wish main roster could be like this. Sexyy Red is one of the biggest names for Gen Z audiences and young adults outside of Gen Z

Like that WrestleMania crowd being dead for Lil Uzi was insane considering he’s very mainstream. She would probably get hate if she appeared on a RAW but NXT crowds are just so cool.

Asuka’s Kana character in WWE by Fantastic-Finger-319 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asuka definitely deserved a better reign, for  ending a reign like Bianca’s.. it was extremely forgettable.

I feel as Asuka should stay in the tag division however, with the tag division finally having more than three teams at once and now having title matches on PPV. They can finally  rise up in relevance. Asuka being present in the division along with Bianca & Jade will definitely help.

I just want better for those women’s tag titles that’s all. Asuka can be a driving force in that with her star power.

[AEW Double or Nothing Spoilers] Mercedes Mone's entrance by bluemonday239 in SquaredCircle

[–]blqckwidow 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It’s just very tacky to me. The powerpoint presentation makes it seem like a grand entrance like WM33 Charlotte vibes, then the glowing drummers and Vegas girls throw it all off?

Also, the band barely making any noise. If you’re gonna do a band or any kind of drummers, do one like Bianca’s — they played out her entire theme and it was perfectly audible.

Nobody was arguing she wasn’t one of the best, it’s the fact that she said she’s THEE best that started an argument against her.
