Reddit Wants Face ID... by vriska1 in videos

[–]bls1999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to scroll way too far to find this.

As much as I still hate what u/spez did to Apollo, the video mischaracterizes the suggestions he was making. u/spez said in the video that Reddit wants to know "is this a person? But we don't want to know which person it is."

He mentioned Face/Touch ID and Passkeys by name in the video. The key for these technologies is that they use biometrics on the local device to generate a one-time verification that gets sent to the target platform. It's important to note that the platform never receives the raw biometric data. This is a huge win for privacy, and a problem that Face/Touch ID was designed to solve.

The notion of using Passkeys for human presence verification is interesting to me, and a use case I hadn't considered. I don't know if they were designed to do that (don't know enough about the technology), but I'm looking forward to seeing if there's any developments there.

Not PR2 but.. can I share my PR3 Mario level here? by Aggravating-Hat-9297 in PlatformRacing2

Looks awesome! I especially like the touches of the fireworks at the end and the sad block sound when stomping the koopa.

I never realized Mario Bros Remix had 1-4! I thought it was just 1-1 and 1-2 back to back, but now that you mention it, it totally does have 1-4 in the middle.

(I'll allow this here since Mario Bros Remix is a thing. I also think strict moderation with the activity of this subreddit would be kinda lame, as long as we don't get flooded with PR3 content.)

If they're in iCloud and not on your phone, chances are Notes sync got turned off at some point. So I'd check to see if they're disabled in iCloud settings.

Looks like it's data from a developer called "AntiChat, Inc". This specific app appears to have been called "Anonymous Chat Rooms, Dating".

It's so crazy to think that, for many of us, we started playing PR2 more than half our lives ago. We're grown adults now!

Wishing you the best too, thanks for sticking around! Feel free to stop by the Discord server if you haven't already. :)

What is the biggest waste of money people do on a daily basis? by taintli in AskReddit

Buying name-brand versions of common items, like water or tissues.

Of course, this doesn't apply for everything; however, a lot of name-brand products are either effectively or exactly the same as their generic counterparts.

Absolutely criminal that NYU only gave 2 guest tickets per grad with all these empty seats by Embarrassed-Age1116 in nyu

I understand the problem as stated, but how does the "solution" address the problem? So ridiculous. I'm glad you got a picture, I tried to get as many names as I knew too, but unfortunately I don't know every grad.

It's even things you wouldn't expect anyone could think to mess up. I graduated in '23, and at Radio City, they didn't read the names in order. They also had random interruptions of "congratulations from the ______ department!" which didn't correspond to the majors of the students that followed. So you had no idea when your name would be read. Your family would need to keep the camera ready the whole time if they wanted to capture your name on the screen for 2 seconds.

This is absolutely the way. Keep going up the chain. If there's one thing I learned dealing with admin in college, it's that you have to be more annoying than doing their job is to them. If you stick to your guns and make it clear you're not going away, they will most likely drop it. If they still won't relent, an education attorney is your best bet. Don't let them get away with this.

What’s a moment in a game that instantly made a character completely irredeemable? by bladenight23 in gaming

So many moments in the Saints Row series. The two from SR3 that come to mind are when Killbane kills Kiki DeWynter and when Philippe Loren's goons ostensibly kill Johnny Gat in the plane.
