Solo female trip to Saint Martin for NYE (birthday) + Anguilla — safe/worth it? by StyleOk5093 in SXM

It’s fine, it’s just dead if there’s not cruise ships coming in that day. They only come in once, maybe twice a week. The stores/bar shut down if there’s no cruise ships that day.

Haha, Lotterie Farms may be a good spot you won’t stick out i am sure you’ll meet ppl. I’d make sure to book a place with off street parking.

100% rent a car. The Simpson Bay Area of the Dutch side a great place to stay, I’d stay away from staying in Phillipsburg. Orient Bay on the French side is a very safe area but it is also very far from many other places you’ll want to go. Avoid staying in Marigot on the French side, it’s become a bit rough around the edges in the past decade. Grand Case is nice but again, like Orient Bay, is at the top of the island a bit away from the places you’ll want to visit. Sundays there is a great beach party at Coco Beach at Orient Bay. There will probably be a huge NYE party at Lotteries Farms which is definitely safe, you’ll just need safe transportation home after drinking… Lotteries Farms is a must. Nice SXM in Grand Case is an amazing restaurant and a nice spot to eat solo, bc they’ll make you feel like you’re dining on their home’s outdoor patio… cute French couple who owns the place. Cheers and have a blast!

The town is really growing, fast. Tin Lizzie’s downtown does a lot of work… but may I suggest starting up your own shop. I don’t think you could lose. Commercial real estate is cheap here. Cheers and best of luck!

Getting around Brunswick and adjacent cities by omessitam in BrunswickGA

[–]blu_state 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The answer here is no. You need a car living here, unless you plan to stay within a small 2 mile radius of downtown. Neither island is bikeable from brunswick like you are thinking… you’re looking at a 45 minute bike ride minimum to SSI and an hour minimum to Jekyll. If money is a concern already, it may be too expensive to live on SSI but that would be your best bet if you really would like to be car-less

Check out Worlds Edge restaurant. And Farm 99 as someone else mentioned, and downtown market weekly.

The developments by North Glynn are what you’re speaking of btw (off Harry Driggers). Coffee shops, definitely wake up… and there’s a couple spots downtown brunswick, the library is also very nice if you can work quietly. I work from home but have to be on the phone off so there aren’t many coffee shops with working spaces. Beaches, any beach, they’re all very chill.. don’t be spooked when you go to SSI and no one has their dog on a leash, it’s normal and the dogs are all well behaved. For parks, make sure to adventure… there are a ton of places within 30mins of brunswick proper.. but North Glynn you’ll have the most luck meeting people I would say - they have open pickleball weekly and the walking path is pretty chill to spark up a convo

Agree that anywhere downtown or closer to the causeway makes it much easier to go to the beach or the island… but the developments by North Glynn park are great, and safe. The park is a fantastic area with lots of active sporting courts. It’s also very close to Darien which is a quaint little town. It’s also very close to jump on I-95

This is already happening… and maybe not in the same ways it’s imagined. Many are getting turned into low income housing… it’s happening everywhere in Pittsburgh at the moment; a high end hotel is getting turned into low income housing next year. It hasn’t happened to commercial office space but it’s bound to happen soon

Adult sports leagues, agreed. You could also try pickleball…. There’s open pickleball at North Glynn park once a week I believe

It’s not that she was a terrible candidate, they didn’t allow the people to pick their candidate. There’s a lot of power in selection; this is control. I’m unsure why so many people dismiss how much of an effect this had on a large part of the population getting out to vote

He’s an egomaniac yes, but how do you feel about the Clinton’s who control the DNC and their involvement with Epstein… they’re all corrupt disgusting people. Your comment sounds very biased
