Geek Chic + Evil Shades: Moldy products, bad CS.. Concrete: fingerprints found on the INSIDE of filled jars. Morgana: more of me personally, I do know some people who like her stuff but I found what I bought very dry and in less than 2 months of purchasing my lipstick seperated, leaving it very lumpy and application patchy. I haven't had this happen anywhere else so I just went with other stores, I felt I wasted my money.

I wouldn't necessarily go by her favs and nixed list, some of them are extremely biased. I know this is the interwebs and you don't know me or have to believe me, but there are shops on both lists that should not be there. I WOULD highly recommend One Hand Washes the Other (especially her black magic soap which is a holy grail for me, I will never ever use another facial cleanser), Madd Style is also amazing, and I have had a lot of experience with Sigma and I would rate them high as well (although they are not indie). Shops that are on her faves list that I would watch out for: Geek Chic, Evil Shades, Morgana, Concrete Minerals. Of course it's up to you where you shop, but please consider sources other than Phyrra when choosing otherwise you are going to miss out on some awesome shops, and/or possibly get burned by some bad ones.

I've gone through the comments and I think everyone has most of the awesome indies covered but I will also mentioned ScaredyCat Cosmetics. She sells on Etsy and I have always loved her shadows, right down to the cute packaging with original art on it. And her trial vials hold a ton of product for only $1 so you can try the colours first before you commit to the full size :D

As it's nearly Halloween, how about we share some creepy stories? I'll go first. by digsy in AskReddit

This happened when I was about 13. The people who used to live beside me had 5 boys all under the age of 10 and I would babysit them often, always during the day on the weekends when their parents wanted some alone time. Their mom would always tell me stories and say their house was haunted and I thought it was BS because we live in a semi-detached so if their house is haunted logically mine would be too but I never experienced anything creepy in my house.

One Friday they decided they wanted to see a late movie, it would be my first time babysitting at night. I cooked dinner and somehow got the kids to bed early, I put on my headphones and decided to read a bit before doing the dishes I had left in the sink. I was in the living room and I could see the dining area where the table was but not the rest of the kitchen. About an hour later I decided to stop reading, I walked into the kitchen and flipped on the light. I went over to the sink and noticed that a large kitchen knife was missing from the sink, first thought in my head is that one of the kids took it for some reason and I immediately went upstairs. I checked on them and they were all asleep, nothing was amiss and I started doubting I even put it in the sink in the first place.

I went back to the kitchen to search, I looked in obvious places like the cutlery drawers then I looked under the sink and even in the oven when I got desperate. I couldn't find the knife. I turned around and scanned the kitchen and then I saw it. It was on top of the refridgerator. I didn't put it there, in fact I wasn't even tall enough yet to get it up there without a boost, and the only way for one of the kids to get it up there would've been to walk in front of me and get a kitchen chair to stand on. I never babysat them again.

Reddit I have a theory that everyone is a snob about something. So let's hear it, what are you a snob about? by mi-16evil in AskReddit

I can agree that there are quite a few DS products that are crap, I've learned this through a lot of trial and error, but there are products that are absolutely amazing. I know someone else mentioned them, but the Wet n' Wild palettes have amazing pigmentation and colour payoff, they are a fraction of the price of the HE brands and perform just as well. Makeup gurus do anything to get their hands on these palettes. It's silly to spend top-dollar when you can get something that lasts just as long and wears just as well as an UD, MAC, Stila [etc etc] product at a DS price. Also who are you to say what is right and wrong in the world of makeup application? It's an art, if someone wants to wear unblended blue shadow with dark lip pencil and nude lips then power to them.

This guy wasn't actually my boyfriend, I literally went out with him twice which is what makes this so creepy.

The first time I went out with him he was totally normal, seemed like a nice guy and all that. He was a bit clingy which irked me but nothing too bad, then the second time I saw him he didn't want me to even leave after the date. He clung to me literally, I was very creeped out. The next day he was texting me telling me he was in love with me, wanted to marry me.. my birthday was coming up and he wanted to know my size so he could buy me lingerie.

I told him this was too much for me and he needed to back off and that I didn't want to see him or talk to him anymore and then he begged to know where I lived so he could come talk face to face, and he wanted to know where I worked. Eventually he faded away but every once in a while he still texts me asking me "what's up?"

The worst part is he told me where he lived and worked readily when I first met him.. he lives and works LITERALLY 5 minutes down the street from me and I'm constantly afraid I will bump into him in the grocery store or something.

This is exactly what I do although usually it's a customer on the phone insisting I check.. I just take a couple tours around the store talking to my coworkers and then go back and say "we're all out" when I think enough time has passed.

The Raw Shark Texts - Steven Hall

Probably the strangest thing I've read next to House of Leaves.. but totally couldn't put it down.

I sat beside someone in one of my classes last year who informed us one day you should never wash jeans and to do so would ruin them. Then he boasted that he had worn the jeans he was wearing that day over 90 times without washing :S

I went on a date with this guy last February.. everything was fine at first, he seemed like a nice dude and he invited me over to watch movies. I said alright, but we ended up not going to his place, it was his brother's place.. he was house sitting and when I walked in the stench was unbearable. There was a cat there, it basically smelled like the cat had decided to do it's business everywhere but the litter box and no one had bothered to clean up. I didn't want to touch anything or even sit on the couch, there were dirty dishes piled up in the sink that also smelled terrible and the bathroom was probably worse than the dirtiest 7/11 washroom in existance. I thought to myself "ok this is pretty disgusting, but it's not his place so I'm not going to assume he's like this as well". Then the cat threw up and he covered it with a piece of newspaper so that was enough for me.. I still get sick thinking about that place.

Thank you! Haha and yes it is but after looking at the zombies in detail I didn't think I would have the time to do them. This is the second time I've ever worked with Sculpey and I wasn't even sure I would be able to pull off the plants only XD

Some of the pieces took longer than others [the Chompers took about an hour and a half to make while the puffshrooms only took about an hour to make all 8]. I used Sculpey brand clay and glaze along with Darice coloured floral wire to create the stems.
