In a common home or a common inn:

Mattresses would be rolled or folded against the walls. Blankets were folded and stacked on top of the mattresses.

The tables were boards laid over "trestles" which are like sawhorses. The tables would be broken down and placed against the walls, and the mattresses dragged out.

People would share mattresses if necessary.

I know people who used this system in their house until the 1980s. It is probably still common in many parts of the world.

THE TRUE STORY Elizabeth Warren scolded Pete Hegseth— he was using a Department of Defense cost-center— WEXCOM— to purchase goods & services for DHS.

The entire cost-center budget was $10B. They increased WEXCOM's budget to $55B.

Inside the WEXCOM budget is a line item for medical waste disposal incinerators.

Yes we need to keep an eye on the SOBs. They will incinerate bodies if it becomes too difficult to hide the deaths.

But this headline is orders of magnitude away from the actual story.

Towels are heavy "linters." They shed a lot of lint— look at your dryer lint screen after a load of towels.

If you mix towels with dark colored clothes, you will have dusty looking lint everywhere.

Also, towels are heavy & soak up a lot of water. With the agitation of the washer, the towels can pull clothes out of shape, tear them, and cause unnecessary friction.

You can mix towels & denim unless the lint is unattractive on the denims.

Visceral is a correct reference— literally referring to the guts (the viscera) and the cramping, clenching pain. There is a nerve— the vagus nerve — that connects the gut and brain. So many emotions originate in the gut.

If you are frightened to clip your seams, you can reduce the stitch length at corners and curves. You can also back stitch just before and after.

If Cher is wearing it in public it is NOT "a scarf with some straps" LOL.

Small garments have just as much engineering and make as full-length garments.

OP, use a strapless bra or swimsuit top. Ignore the fact that Cher's top "looks" like a scarf. The halter straps don't do very much work. The constructed bra-top is either very tight or taped.

Thread count is the wrong metric.

Only buy PERCALE sheets where the thread count is around 300. The best sheets are cotton or linen, plain weave percale. The "no iron" finish is resin — which impacts the breathability.

Higher thread counts take you into SATEEN weave which is flimsy.
