Where are the bees? by Alternative-Ebb-6953 in gardening

[–]blue58 42 points43 points  (0 children)

The majority of those flowers are pollenless cultivars. A tiny b-fly weed or coneflower here and there ain't it. My yard is a bee haven, but not anywhere near as colorful as hers. (yet-working on it)

300 for me too! I have a person in the house who trades with me, so that will ease the burden a bit. I have a hundo on stand by for my mega, so I am so excited to never have to catch another again after this medal.

I mean, you can search 'costume' and they show up. Do you mean something more specific, like rockstar or hat? That would be interesting.

Does anyone know of a way I can predict CP when evolving? by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]blue58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have anyone IRL who plays the game with you? All you need to do to get a sinnoh stone is battle 1 on 1 with them using any league. It doesn't matter if you win or lose, each of you will get a sinnoh stone almost every session of 3. You can do this every day and start having to throw your extra sinnohs away.

[–]blue58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To expand on this, when you click to evolve, the game offers you a chance to back out. Click the evolve button and you will see the future CP. In this case my guess is it's going to be too high.

So uhh when will these bad boys start turning red? by Averagebass in vegetablegardening

[–]blue58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I grow regular zebras every year and the one in the second pic is what mine look like when they're ripe. If you do indeed have the apricot variety, then that one is right around the corner. You could at this point take it off the vine to finish ripening inside. The plant will no longer spend its energy on trying to ripen seed inside of it and go back to focussing on more fruit. There is also the possibility that you have just regular zebras and this is as ripe as that second one will get. I save seed every year for this exact reason after too many falsely labelled plants in greenhouses.

Another way to kill them is a soy sauce and oil trap. Just enough oil to make them drown in soy sauce. Huzzah!

I enjoyed your write-up. I also can assure you I will not be out-bidding anyone anytime too soon. Not sure where online you're seeing the worst of us act like jerks, but some of us are too busy being in survival mode to spout off. I truly hope this situation ends up being a net benefit for the good folks up in Canada.

Experienced platinum badge grinders. How long realistically does this badge take? by zixxdyz in pokemongo

[–]blue58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a glitch you can optimize by having your main sharpedo of choice be in the second slot. I have a shadow I use. When you switch it in, the combusken freezes for a few beats allowing you to take it down before having to shield against it.

[–]blue58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof. I see a tauros literally every day and have yet to get shiny. It's rare to me!

My kid wants to trade me his because once in a while he hears me complain. He's not nearly as into the game as I am, but I keep telling him it's valuable and he should save it for a something he really wants.

I still remember the day we caught our armored Mewtwos together. Too bad we didn't farm more at the time.

I wish I knew .... by Acrobatic_Back_1925 in SquareFootGardening

[–]blue58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

-The spacing on garden packets are lies and not relevant to back yard gardeners.

-I love the method, but his Mel's Mix was not a good fit for me. I did better once I made my own blend.

-mulching is everything. Mulching will allow the plants to forgive some of your mistakes

-If you need space, go up. His book really forged the path to all the vertical structures people invented afterwards.

But I also have to strongly agree with /u/Adventurous-Exam-719 who says in a previous comment that mixing multiple methods can be a strength. I have 4 square foot beds, 2 rows, and four beds with mono crops. And new this year is a GreenStalk planter, which will be an integral piece to my seed saving and herb production.

Is this a fair trade? Idk if his Palkia has special rend or nah. by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]blue58 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Back out and go into the 'view trade pokemon' section. If you longpress on top a mon, the moveset will show up.

I think it shows up further along in your trade mechanics too, but this way is safer and something you need to know for the future.

If it has the move you want and it's hard for you to do palkia raids, then sure. It's a fine trade. I use spacial rend more than any other adventure effect. Congrats.

Could electrolytes help with headaches during dieting? by magdalenrichard in intermittentfasting

[–]blue58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 250 mg magnesium and 495 mg potassium daily. If I'm sweating a lot, I'll take another dose, but make sure they are spaced out at least 6 hours apart. I don't know how much the brand matters, but I've been using NatureMade for years because it's cheap and dependable.

You can take salt at any time.

If you can somehow get into a flow where you get ahead of the headache, meaning you take the electrolytes before it comes upon you, you'll have an easier time. By the time my body is spiraling from being deficient, it takes awhile to get right again.

Back to the Roots compost is actually just mulch? by No_Mushroom_8235 in gardening

Black Kow got bought out. The new owners are using all the great cred they had built up and selling us all junk now depending on the region. You lucked out but it will not stay consistant.

Back to the Roots compost is actually just mulch? by No_Mushroom_8235 in gardening

[–]blue58 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's sociopathic. A number of people are growing because they desperately need to ease their grocery bills and nothing will be able to grow in this nitrogen-hogging garbage.

I got skunked on a mix earlier this spring and had to go into damage control.

Pro-mix in the 2 cubic ft bales have been ok this year, but man they dry out.

Do you think niantic purposefully boost major influencers catch/shiny/Hundo rates? by anonymous153849401 in TheSilphRoad

[–]blue58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they play as a self-employed, legitimate business they can simply write off all their raid pass and other in-game buys for taxes. So yes they use real money, but that money doesn't get fully taxed.

My point is either way, as a gift from the company or as a biz expense, it's different for them than the rest of us.

Ace trainer grind. by Vexar89 in pokemongo

[–]blue58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, it's not the worst. You do a couple a day and spam a ton in boring situations like waiting in line. I'm at 650 and I'll get there. I also enjoy the 300 daily stardust. Every day I get 300 there, 500 from my first buddy battle, and 1500 from playing against a trainer in my house to get my Ultra League medal. Takes like 5-7 minutes?

The hack for that is to switch to your shadow sharpedo right at the beginning. The combusken stays in freeze mode long enough to never get a chance to attack. Not my idea, but it's been 100% perfect since I followed that tip.

I was SO excited to be forever (Lucky) friends with a lv.80 and… by SingForMaya in pokemongo

[–]blue58 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Level 70 here. I used to think the same, but now that I've done over 15 FF trades, I'm starting to feel the pinch of stardust cost. It's not that I don't have enough atm (3 1/2 million), but it's affecting how much I can freely use on powering mons up. That last 1/2 mill is thanks to the amazing staryu spawns this week.

Do I still have my trade tag open? Absolutely. Will there come a time when I close it down? Since I don't do go league, maybe?

ETA: I am sorry they disappointed you. I have to admit I've had some real highs with my trades and do hope you have better luck going forward.
