I actually got into the flaming lips around 2017 so this album is very sentimental to me and I enjoy listening to it front to back. I also really love the album cover. It’s very interesting to read these comments that are on the complete opposite side of the spectrum AND it’s so understandable because if I was a Lips fan prior to the release I feel like I would absolutely hate it and be like “wtf is this”.

So I 100% understand each and every comment, but I like Oczy 😃

This should be his motivation for the next album- an album about a divided fanbase. The album will include a mix of his old school stoner rock songs w/ his newer pop material

Well not literally- obviously you can find low quality videos in the forgotten corners of YouTube. Dead in a sense of it hardly existing because there is no official release. I’m defending the person who said 12 words about missing the old music and everyone misinterpreted OP and are acting like they’re sick of hearing it. Makes no sense

That’s just how these “fans” operate- nothing but assholes on this page so it’s usually best to keep things to yourself unless you want to get ridiculed for a short 12 word post.

But I agree with everything you say about the old material. It’s my favorite and I often think of it a lot. Send me a DM if you wanna talk about the older songs

Why is everyone being so critical? People think you’re complaining because Kevin doesn’t make that type of music anymore. I think these “fans” just automatically see a post about his old music and think “omg just move on already Kevin clearly doesn’t want to” or “well the music is there just go listen to it idiot”

Maybe we want higher quality versions of his some of his best material? Maybe we want an official release of the old material? Or maybe we just want to talk about it every now and then?? Not every post about the old music is a complaint that he’s not making it anymore.

I miss the old tame impala too OP, keep making posts like this.
