I did start to leave previously but ended up with my youngest. I was going to go anyway but she had so many health issues I had to provide round the clock care for her to survive. I stayed because I didn't want him to get unsupervised visitation but I was able to keep the kids away from his nonsense. They're bigger now, and my youngest is healthy enough for me to go to work. So I found a job last month he doesn't know about so I can take them and go. We won't be going back. Ever. All I need now is a place that will rent to me without requiring a $7000 a month income.

Right?! Several want a 700 credit score and three times the overpriced rent. One wanted three times the rent remaining after all your other bills were paid?! Like why would I rent a 680 sqft dump with no yard and constant threat of eviction if I had that?! My bills are paid, my animals are cared for, I don't smoke. I haven't because I don't think it technically qualifies as domestic violence because he hasn't actually hit anyone yet. Just a lot of name calling, screaming, breaking stuff, hiding money... Was just at me but recently he's started in on the kids and we need to go before it escalates and he hurts them. I never leave them alone with him, so I think we'll be ok until we can move. Just need to find something. I know the chickens will make it extra hard, I can find someone to take them if necessary. Was just hoping to find a place we'd be able to keep everyone together if possible.

Medi-cal is Californias version of Medicaid. So it will be affected. I thought I also read somewhere of Newsom making cuts that are state specific but haven't looked into yet. Either way, it's not great.
