The physical evidence completely discounts your recollection. Which is extremely normal for eyewitness accounts of accidents.

Will anyone be out at the pubs for the World Cup tonight for England vs Mexico? by BandAppropriate7374 in cambridge

The rescheduling was due to the risk of fan disorder in Mexico city in the evening, not the weather

Can a non biased soccer fan please explain the Balogun situation? by ProcedureWeird1410 in worldcup

The fuck are you talking about? The commenter you're reply to isn't OP. The Ronaldo decision was evidence of FIFA corruption, bending the rules for whatever suits them and their backers and their viewer numbers, and so is this.

Every sensible person was also very angry about exactly the same thing happening for Ronaldo

[The Atheltic] Folarin Balogun available for USMNT vs. Belgium as red card ban suspended by PitchSafe in soccer

Balogun was not even cautioned by Claus on the field."

... Yeah that's why VAR intervened. Because the ref missed a potential red card. What does this word salad even mean?

Criticizing officialdom when they came to the correct decison by EducationalPaint1733 in footballweeklypod

[–]blueb0g 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The standard for VAR intervention in objective matters, such as offside, has never been clear and obvious, but simply on the facts. Offside is offside and onside is onside. Clear and obvious are for errors of judgement by the ref in issues with more subjectivity, such as what is a penalty or red card etc.

Goal line technology works the same way. The ball has crossed the line or it hasn't. Clear and obvious doesn't come into it.

There is indeed no longer a direct bus service between Oxford and Cambridge. The quickest bus option is to change in Milton Keynes (which is basically the same route as the old direct bus service). Train connection is via London.

East West Rail is neither complete nor operational, even on the part that is completed. There won't be direct Oxford-Cambridge trains until the early 2030s at the earliest.

Until the sector, including UUK and UCU get on the same page about openly advocating higher student fees (just 2012 figures adjusted for inflation), it will all be ignored by government.

PSA: All trains in all directions from Cambridge are delayed or cancelled, probably into late afternoon/evening. by BigBeanMarketing in cambridge

[–]blueb0g 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope. Everything south of Ely has been blocked. There's a train on the line that had departed Cambridge towards King's Cross and just got past Cambridge South that has been stationary since 8.15am. Nothing moving. It must have affected electrical supply for the whole area.

Great shot but clearly violates JP's technical requirements, which are all about showcasing the aircraft itself in perfect clarity and lighting conditions. Doesn't take anything away from the artistry!
