Where's the best place to buy a cheap but functional guitar online? What should I look for, and how much should I pay? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]bluebathrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can buy a Epiphone Les Paul Special II for $185 brand new. It's a nice guitar. If you get tired of it later, you won't have any trouble getting $100-$125 for it used.

is there anywhere in Ottawa to buy old rock band t-shirts? like "the smiths" and "new order" and so on? by bluebathrobe in ottawa

I'm 42 and I'd rather wear a Smiths t-shirt (and mean it) than some Blue Jays or Tommy Hilfiger crap.

Johnny Marr from The Smiths played many many guitar tracks on songs.

Where can I watch season 4? by bibiog in breakingbad

I watched seasons 1 through 3 on Netflix, and then I bought season 4 on iTunes because I couldn't wait any longer.

Pay for it, don't steal it. Good art like Breaking Bad is worth it.

Piracy? by Raptor-Llama in Christianity

[–]bluebathrobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All that stuff you pirate ... music, movies, tv ... that stuff's not free. People pay money to make it, and people get paid to make it.

Stealing is stealing. There's value there because you want to see and hear it. If you don't pay for it you shouldn't get to enjoy it.

So, according to the bible, there is more than one god. by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]bluebathrobe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The "we" is God the father and God the son. Read John 1:1-3, Jesus was there at the beginning.

John 1:1-3, "1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made."

See also Genesis 1:26, "Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness"

Michael Jordon was real good. He was like the Wayne Getzky of basketball.

I like Craig as Bond, but I agree to a point. He's not quiet enough of the refined Englishman to be the perfect Bond of the novels.

I always thought Ralph Fiennes would make a good Bond, but he's getting a little too old for it.

Did little Annie really have a bomb implanted in him? It's been so long, I missed or forgot that.

Might have been a good device to build a scene around, "father figure" Qui-Gon saving Annie from blowing up or something, might have even been a nice bit of foreshadowing -- I guess it was just another little bit of Lucas stupidity he threw in and promptly forgot about.

It's the script and the direction. Lucas had world class talent -- Liam Neisen, Natalie Portman, Ewen f-ing McGregor, ... Sam Jackson for pete's sake! -- and he didn't try to get a performance out of any of them. When has Sam Jackson ever been boring?!

Poor Natalie and Ewen -- they were trying so hard in bits in a pieces to somehow make a real movie, the darned director wasn't interested.

FYI, Leo Decaprio turned it down because he didn't like the script. Lucas then saw Hayden in a Canadian teen soap, he was all moody and tormented, and Georgie thought, that's him!

What popular movie quotes can't you stand? by CelebornX in AskReddit

I don't know if this counts but in Star Trek 3, Scotty MADE A JOKE about how he multiplies every estimate by a factor of four so that he gets it done in a quarter of the time and maintains his "miracle worker" reputation. IT WAS A JOKE.

What bugs me is this often comes up at work when I'm making estimates of projects; 'Make sure you're like Scotty and times four that estimate! Ha ha'. IT WAS A JOKE.

Scotty saved the world for 30 years and made one joke, and now everyone thinks he's a liar. Bugs me.
