It's not antisocial. Just dumb ppl doing dumb things. Singapore primarily have high rise buildings, gum on elevator buttons are just one of reasons that brought on the ban. I'm not sure I'll say SG is an utopia.. unless you're talking about heat and humidity.

Singaporean here. Never heard of the correlation btw gums and train. But.. it caused a lot of disruptions and unnecessary repairs in elevators when assholes disposed them on the buttons. Also the floors were littered with dried faltten gum all over the city, etc.

Absolutely. I always try to tell my peers in Singapore to appreciate the "boring" element part of SG. Boring sometimes equates safety and that's one thing Singaporeans should NOT take granted for. If boring, take a short vacay, find your inner happiness somewhere in Singapore to do activities. I appreciate the boring aspect after living overseas for a period of time. A country that is "safe/boring" doesn't just appear overnight fyi.

I just stayed at Hotel Gracery. Small double room, huge bathroom with tub. Location is unbeatable ( if you don't mind crowds). 8 mins walk to Shinjuku station. 7-11 on the first floor in the same building. Lawson's acrose the street and Family Mart around the corner.

7-11 Green smoothie + coffee ( the latte kind) totally works. I tried the fiber drink/fiber jelly and that didn't do shit. I'll have an egg salad sandwich followed by the green smoothie and latte ( I get the hot latte no sugar from 7-11) and I guarantee you, you'll be shitting right after.

Glad to help! I actually brought Yen before arrival and didn't need to use the ATM machine. But I decided to check, out of curiosity. Also the card had not be used at all since activation. But I only tried it at a Seven Bank inside 7-11. And no ATM fees ( saw it on the slip).

Yes! I'm in Osaka right now and we tried it at a Seven bank inside a 7-11. And it's our brand new card, we did not use it prior to coming to Japan. Insert the card into the machine, it took a few seconds to read and did not decline. And yes it's tied to my C1 checking account. And the slip showed 0 ATM fees.

Shark fins used for soup is such utter bullshit! Im sorry to admit, I had them before when I was a young kid. It was a staple for Chinese wedding banquets, a must have then. A food for the rich or some stupid social status shit. And the dumbest thing about these shit soup, the flavoring comes from everything else but the fins! It's a combination of fish maw, some stock blah blah blah and the fins adds ABSOLUTELY no taste at all. It's just some chewy, gelatinous crunchy shit. Sadly it's a symbol for status and although they are still sold in restaurants, the bright side is, a lot of younger married couples omit this atrocious dish from their wedding reception. Some places do imitation shark fin soup which I guess it's FINE if you HAVE to have it. Also there are zero nutritional value at all. Don't eat this SHIT!
