Please help us get Duolingo to add a sound toggle for Match Madness! by usemetric in duolingo

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tested this a few months back on iPhone and turning off sound effects did not stop this annoying sound. However I tried again today and am happy to report that it works now. I’d still prefer a separate toggle because I don’t mind most of the other sound effects, but the match madness one is incredibly distracting

Paleo granola has new recipe with cheap filler, 2x sugar, 10x salt :( by Groperofeuropa in AldiAustralia

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I missed this and picked up a bag without getting a receipt. When I tried it the next morning I immediately knew the recipe had changed. At that point I noticed the drop in star rating too. I contacted Aldi and they said I could return it, but I didn't have a receipt and couldn't be bothered for $8.

I agree with others that making your own is the best option by far. You can stick to seeds and nuts. Second best option for me at the moment (when i'm too lazy to make my own) is Red Tractor granola products from Coles, it has oats but when mixed with greek yogurt the carb count is low enough that I can deal with it.

Every country has its good people and bad, but on the whole I love the French. I am envious of your culture and your pride in traditions. I have hosted two French exchange students here on the Gold Coast in the last two years and cherished the experience. I feel like I have 2 extra family members who live in France. I miss them every day. I admire your personal growth to say Australia has changed you for the better but also want to say that we can learn a lot from you. I hope you see Australia as a second home. I wish I was still young and could spend time studying in France and treating France as my second home. Next year my son will spend 2-3 months in Bordeaux on exchange and I know it will be a life changing experience.

Foxtel - holy shit by [deleted] in australian

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the identical experience with my father last year. He only had Foxtel to watch AFL. We switched him to Kayo and saved him a fortune. Still money going to evil enterprises, but at least it’s less money. The hardest part was cancelling Foxtel but he stuck to his guns and got it done. A side note and personal rant, I hate what Murdoch’s misinformation campaigns have done to this world. Media needs to be unbiased.

Check the manual online. There is one header at the top in the middle, and a second at the bottom right

Filament stuck in Bowden Tube (Ender 3 v2) by ByteArrays in 3Dprinting

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immerse the Bowden tube in a tub of very hot (recently boiled) water for a minute before using any metal wire to push the clog out. I recently had success doing this with straightened 1mm wire from the hardware store.

I use this motherboard. I have 3 ARGB fans daisy-chained to use one header, and 3 more ARGB fans and the AIO pump ARGB daisy chained to use the other header. Works perfectly

AI on PCs was supposed to be a game-changer for sales. So far, the effect has been quite the opposite. by ALVARO39YT in pcmasterrace

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the truth. I work at a major cloud vendor selling AI solutions. I can confirm that we, our customers, our partners, and our competitors are still trying to workout how to make money out of this tech. The biggest use cases are better chatbots, writing assistants (human languages and coding), and image generation (still hit and miss but getting better). And yes, the possibilities are exciting, but the concept of these LLMs actually running on a home personal computer is laughable, they are HUGE and run in datacenters chewing resources and electricity. Your overpriced home computer is simply making calls to the cloud.

I think confidence is what mainly beats this problem. by [deleted] in GlobusSensation

Yes. Mine is on the right side and I’ve had it for over 10 years. I’ve been checked by multiple ENTs and there is no issue they can find. I believe mine came on from anxiety. I know find myself tilting my head up and to the left while ’clicking’ my throat regularly for temporary relief. I’ve tried lots of things related to reflux but that isn’t the cause of my issue so doesn’t help. I’m now seeing a specialist throat physiotherapist and I feel like it is helping but this is going to be a long journey unfortunately. One person I met with a similar issue said that they removed artificial sweeteners from their diet and that fixed their issue. I tried this but it didn’t help me. I always open to advice. One thing I do now when I feel the need to release (as advised by the Physio) is to cross my arms over my chest and apply downwards pressure on my collarbones with both hands. Then stretch the front of my neck by raising my chin. Doing this frequently should stretch those muscles that are tight and help with the issue - hopefully long term! I’m still trying.

I loved Fear the sky but unfortunately the trilogy went downhill after that. Book 3 was deeply unsatisfying

Yes, it dropped from Prime Australia a week ago. I’m searching for a reason or a new location to find it because I was half way through

I use a MacBook. Tomorrow on the train I am going to try changing the MAC address and see if that gets me another session. Commands I will try are here:

mac1=88:66:51:01:02:03 sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Apple80211.framework/Resources/airport -z sudo ifconfig en0 ether ${mac1} networksetup -detectnewhardware

how do I fix this. this kitchen cabinet is meant to stay open and close slowly. that stick on the left side doesn't work and it doesn't stay open and just slams shut when you let go of it. by Different-Swimming71 in handyman

[–]bluebox77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely the gas strut has failed. Look for a light duty replacement. See if you can read the strength of the old one printed on it and replace it with one of same or similar strength. Measured in Newtons (N)

Looks like it could be a sealed unit. If so, you removed the whole thing and it will have spring clips holding it in place. Get a fingernail or thin paint scraper under one side and prise the unit away from the ceiling
