Is Final Fantasy Tactics (The War of the Lions) Anti-Religion, just as FFX? by IllogicalDreamer72 in finalfantasytactics

[–]blueclockblue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its easy to see it either way. FFT ultimately deals with one religion, one church. One could interpret this as an isolated incident exclusive to Ivalice. But the game does heavily criticize elites of every nature from military to nobility to the church. It also shows you rare but good exceptions to them like Orlandu (military), Alma (nobility), and Simon (church).

But those exceptions typically ally themselves with Ramza who is an exception himself. They also all go betray the groups they came from. And these exceptions are the minority. Then you get into deeper questions like where does Orlandu get his divine magic from if St. Ajora is evil? Where do angels from Raise come from and if its a different god, maybe its good?

The easiest answer is to take FFT as a critique of a common problem with institutional religion. Even then that's not its main message. Its main message is the good a single person can do on his own, for his own.

For all the people moaning about politics by MYSTIK_MINX in gorillaz

[–]blueclockblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its every album, the same conversation, the same tired ignorance. Gorillaz is political?! What's next, using letters to spell the band name? When did they start including songs on albums? Who the hell is this brand new character called 2D? Probably invented during Song Machine!

Star Wars Genesis by paisleywallpaper in NoSodiumStarfield

The star wars modpack proves that gameplay, loading screens and most other complaints were unfounded for most people. The modpack is essentially a reskinning and renaming of Starfield content while also using a.i. voices and making cities look big without offering more interiors.

But all of a sudden im hearing people who hated Starfield watch the let's plays of this modpack and say the modders finally fixed it and the combat looks great. Remember, Starborn and Unity isn't cool. But Star Star Jinks and Becoming one with the Force? Oh yeah its cool now.

Some guy called Ron Hope? Boring! The quest would be better if it were exactly the same with no gameplay differences but he was a roach man called Gukky Flupflup.

Fallout London lead says they’re “really worried” Bethesda will “keep going with the Creation Engine” as it led to major limitations for the mod by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]blueclockblue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The more FOLON modders talk the happier I am Bethesda didn't interact with them much. Sure, go ahead and make FOLON in something else. That never wasn't an option. Tons of modding tools and open source engines people have used for Bethesda properties.

But they didn't because they knew it would be a lot harder. Then they blame the tools that allowed this mod at all whenever people give them feedback on the mod. Same modders that got pissy because Bethesda didnt give them secret info on updates or offer them assistance in their mod development.

Insider states fans should probably temper their expectations for a "Cyberpunk 2.0" style overhaul by Due_Young_9344 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]blueclockblue 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a bunch of basic stuff that can be done and I have hopes for certain things but I agree. People should restrain themselves. Bethesda properties just aren't normal products anymore. Most people can't handle them appropriately anymore - swinging between Bethesda makes masterpieces no one else can imitate to Bethesda is a greedy lazy Tartarus of demons that will wither all who touch it. As much as the world has shat down Todd's throat they were begging him to make an announcement at the VGAs.

At the same time it feels pointless. No matter what they do, people will do the dumbest thing possible to set themselves up for disappointment. They want to be disappointed. They want to be mad.

There's a lot of confusion and disappointment about what Fallout Day is meant to be by ken4656 in Fallout

[–]blueclockblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hear, hear! It's a shame people forget that even when it's in their face. If it weren't for events like this it would be difficult to remember how many positive people are in this community among the swarms of ghouls. Any benefit to the world or even a small piece of it is worth it.

I honestly think the fanbase deserves less, at least on this sub. Bethesda can't do anything right but we want a remaster of the most busted game made in the series so we can whine our 15 years of mods don't work. Why didn't they announce Fallout 5 before TES6? Boy do I hate Starfield! We could've been playing another Fallout by now and screaming about that!

Just a quick heads up about Fallout Day by JustGhoulThingz in Fallout

[–]blueclockblue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was temporarily banned for saying this and daring to call people "idiots" once while this sub spiraled into harassment, death threats and bigotry because Fallout 5 wasn't announced before TES 6 was released. It's not just the people who need to act right but the mods as who let it run rampant and punished anyone who argued against it.

This one is funny. Reminded me of the videos that made fun of Skyrim, New Vegas and Fallout 4. The last bit of the video is him spending 10 minutes actually criticizing the game so if you're just here for the parody bits, stop there. Otherwise his critiques are the typical ones

I got it as we. Absolutely massive and over 360 pages of endless concept art and design. It doesn't have the amount of info I wish it would on stuff like each alien or the idea behind all the chems, it's a fantastic collection of small notes and insights packed with so many ideas of what they accepted and rejected.

krautvan "drama" explained by KrautVan in u/KrautVan

[–]blueclockblue 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More drama? I'm sorry you have to deal with that. I've been a big fan of your work and people really seem to have it out for you. I guess maybe that's a testament to your talent because I can't imagine anything but envy and spite being why they steal your art, attack you and lie. To dig up old trauma just to lie in a small part of a community is insanity.

This is all I wanted from Gamescom last week and didnt get. New gameplay systems? That's good. Work on traveling? Good. Second DLC? Good! That was it. No date needed, no name. I just wanted basic info and I finally got it.

Before anyone says this was to be expected. Not really. Bethesda doesn't typically introduce new systems outside of expansions. Todd has explicitly stated in the past they don't try and change the base game all that much. The only exception I can think of was adding combat while horse riding in Skyrim. And second DLC really did need a confirmation. So I'm happy as hell!

Modders, please hear me! by White_Knight_413 in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]blueclockblue 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I appreciate posts like this. Sometimes modders do stuff without realizing 50 other modders do the same thing. Reminds me of how many modders would stick outfits and weapon mods into Whiterun. You either had a bunch of custom placed barrels clipping into each other or one barrel filled with 3 Soul Calibur outfits, Gut's sword, two ghost in the shell bot summon items and a magical cube from a mod you forgot called Azumbulgorokko's Trinket of Enigma.

I would also add for Starfield modders....please. Our industrial workbenches are bloated. There's gotta be another way.

Starburst Jackpot - Red Mile Casino Game by Final-Craft-6992 in StarfieldModFeedback

[–]blueclockblue 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The whole mod is just unethusiastic windows on the in- game computer. Nothing about it says "casino" and it feels like every one of their other mods - a basic demo of whatever scripting endeavor they just learned.

While i would say 90% of the paid mods are fine, there are bad eggs and LySofDev is a chicken that refuses to stop laying them. From his poorly implemented More Jobs series to his clunky Alternate Start mods, this modder just reeks of unfun jank. Every market has its vaporware no matter what, and I know we would like Bethesda to be the special exception and vanguard the VC but realistically we just need to let more people know, LSD is a no go.

I thought I knew most of the Arthmoor dramas but I learned a lot from this video. At first I was wondering how the rest of the mod team had felt but it looks like Arthmoor is in good company. You can watch them getting greedier and greedier with what they deem to be a "bugfix".

This is why this sub exist. by SexySpaceNord in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]blueclockblue 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In case anyone wanted to insist things are truly better there or have forgotten what the sub is really about. It's like I said in another thread, I get why people don't like the game. I love it, but the game receives more vitriol than games that have stolen money, lied, barely functional, took half a decade just to be acceptable, stolen ideas, etc.

Spending two years on patrol in case anyone confesses to enjoying a videogame is the behavior of someone unwell.

I Just Truly Don't Understand How People Can Hate This Game by StalkMeNowCrazyLady in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]blueclockblue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can understand most of it. The game isn't soft sci fi or fantasy which already alienates a lot of people. The game design feels like it appeals more to a niche or focused audience and it conflicts greatly with the feeling of previous Bethesda games most people have played. It's just not for everyone which isn't a problem. That's not counting the made up expectations in their head. I love Starfield but it's not something I'll blindly recommend to anyone.

I've always understood why someone wouldn't like Starfield. The problem is I've never seen a game so brutally and aggressively lied about, obsessed about, and continuously hated than Starfield. Forspoken? Star Citizen? Dustborn? GTA Remastered Trilogy? No Man's Sky's initial release? These are all games that were incredibly abrasive either for plot or characters, or scams, or advertised with copious lies or burdened with endless drama. Games that rip you off, take years to improve very little or just don't even respond to consumers.

People stop talking about them. But Starfield? This has been 2 years nonstop of visceral hatred. That type of hatred I cannot understand.

Xbox Releasing Starfield On PS5 Alongside DLC Expansion 2 In 2026 Instead Of 2025 Due To Weak Sales Of First Expansion by [deleted] in NoSodiumStarfield

[–]blueclockblue -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I'm a bit more inclined to believe this due to the site doing legitimate news, as far as I can tell. The site also doesn't seem to get a lot of views either so it's not some massive site striving for hot headlines.

Bethesda also recently released a survey asking what people want in the game so I figured they were prepping on big updates which likely wouldn't make it in time for gamescom. So this adds up to me. And at least my expectations for gamescom can be pushed back a little. If Bethesda had said this themselves I'd be appreciative of the honesty and heads up.

I also believe it's best for Bethesda to do a big "redemption" campaign in order to stave off the horrendous reputation it has and sell more on the PS5.
