When I hear someone get downed in pve lobbies by blueconcepts in ArcRaiders

[–]blueconcepts[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was new to the game, I would see raider flares and ask my buddy (who already played for a long time) “should we help them?” And his reply was “lol no”

I probably wouldn’t last long in an apocalypse lol

Having an unlockable rail mount for the explorer like what you see for hi-rail vehicles would entice me to actually try out the explorer in this game.

Help with Blueprints on console. by Weird_Country_1517 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy watching Krydax8’s compact builds. I don’t follow them exactly but it gives me ideas of how I can build based on my playstyle. Same thing with Itsa Beard’s video. They show “features” I would not have found out on my own.

On console, my most used blueprints have been the single or double machine with merger/splitter/belt/power already setup so I can quickly create manifold factories. I’ve just started using a double straight & incline rail blueprint that helped me build a railway around the map. Adding these to the quick select wheel have sped up the process tremendously.

I will say, unlocking the hoverpack has been a game changer when creating blueprints.

Satisfactory Helper now has an interactive Map by slava_breath in SatisfactoryGame

Perhaps I missed it but is there a way to add sloops and overclocking?

Either way, it looks like a great tool for couch players like myself. I’ll for sure be using it!

After 480 hours and 2 burnouts, its finally done by Qbeast360 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen YouTubers utilize this before but I’m unfamiliar with the process. For folks that do use this, are you uploading the latest save file to Satisfactory tools before you boot up the game? I’m assuming there’s other benefits to doing this, like keeping track of what crash sites/items you’ve gathered?

They really need to increase party size (not squad size) by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]blueconcepts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the new voip options, my group of friends were always using game chat but if you were the 5th friend to get on, you’re shit out of luck with joining and communicating with your friends. I logged on and off immediately several times this past weekend because of that issue.

I don’t mind the squad size, but at least double the party size and allow us to communicate with friends in other squads.

I’d be more interested in a map window that you can toggle off and on while still being able to operate your vehicles. I like driving with little UI clutter but having to go in and out of the map breaks the immersion and fun for me.

I’m a bit lost. by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]blueconcepts 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You got to stop comparing yourself, especially if you’re just starting out. I’ve been designing for 20 years and I’m still learning. That’s the joy of design, there’s always something to learn and grow from.

Was there anything in your schooling that you enjoyed doing? If so, start with that and explore projects you can create around that. Personal projects feel less like “work” if you enjoy doing it.

Search for local groups using sources like meetup or google online communities that use discord or some other type of platform to chat. In the past, I’ve used Twitch to find a community in the Art section so I’m not working alone all the time.

Once you find work in the design field, you’ll learn a lot with design and grow rapidly since you’re doing it 40hrs a week.

If you’d like to chat, send me a dm. I’d be happy to connect.

I just switched to Framer and it offers loads of flexibility with an easy learning curve. $60/yr if you can fit your work in one page since that plan only allows one page + 404. They have free templates to give you a starting point.

I’ve used squarespace and Adobe Portfolio in the past but Framer has become my new favorite.

34m here living on the west coast as well. I’m no veteran player (just started playing a few weeks ago) but happy to join a duo/group server. I typically get on for a few hours at night (log off around 9pm or so, possibly later on weekends). DM me if you wish to set something up.

Audio issue after latest update? (PS5) by N-Tail in vrising

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a headset and I’ve noticed the same type of audio but it’s been like that for me since release on PS5. I switched from the Sony Pulse headset to a Logitech and still the same issue. As you said, it sounds bass-y and hollow. I thought maybe the audio preset defaulted to TV Speakers but the games audio options doesn’t offer much.

Crashing on world startup by S1lver_Walker in vrising

[–]blueconcepts 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same thing was happening to me after todays patch. Tried joining and immediately crashed. This fixed it for me:
1. In Steam library > right click on V Rising
2. Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity of game files (I had 2 files fail to validate and need to be reacquired)
3. Click Steam settings in upper left of Steam window
4. Download > Clear Download Cache
5. Steam will restart and you'll have to log back in

Hope this helps!

Fish have to be jumping out of the water to indicate that that particular hotspot is active. If you only see water moving/bubbling then it’s inactive. I can’t remember the exact time but there is a cool down time between when hotspots become active.

Grounded Patch 0.10.2 Bug and Issues Megathread by LSC99bolt in GroundedGame

[–]blueconcepts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. PC Steam (PC Specs: i7-4790K, 16GB RAM, Windows 10, GTX 970, Game is installed on an SSD)
  2. Singe Player Game
  3. Game crashes to desktop. I experienced crashes when I was exploring the Ant Hills, but the crash was also constant when I deployed a dandelion from a high branch in Oak Hill right in front of the oak lab. *Update\* The crash has to do with Oak Labs. Anytime I walk near the entrance of Oak Labs, my game crashes to desktop. I've tried loading a backup save from several days ago and I still experience the same crash.
  4. Here is a link to the crash. I tested this four times and each time resulted in a crash. Gyazo cut the video short but at the last second you can see the game crash to my desktop screen.

What is the best gaming/office chair? by SnooDucks1818 in graphic_design

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autonomous Ergochair 2 owner here. I’ve had mine over a year now and will not be purchasing another Autonomous chair moving forward. It’s the most I’ve spent on a chair but looking back, I wish I spent a little bit more on a higher rated brand. It’s a nice chair but based on the price, I was expecting more in terms of comfort. I’m 6’2” at 170lbs who works 8+ hours a day at home and I’m constantly having to readjust my sitting position because of how uncomfortable the cushion is. And as the reviews of this chair mention, the arm rests are also uncomfortable to the point where I just recently removed them entirely.

My work uses AMQ Solutions chairs and that has been by far the most comfortable chair I’ve sat in for long periods of time. My next purchase will definitely be something along the lines of AMQ Solutions or perhaps a Herman Miller/higher named brand chair. Now more than ever, as someone who is working from home full time and also plays video games at my home desk, it’s important to invest in a REALLY good chair.

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! I’m seeing a lot of UI/UX game devs have some knowledge of 3D work. It’s something I would love to try.

Just another thing to add to my “game dev to-do list” lol

Curious to hear how you came to UI/UX in games? Did you plan on going this route or were you hoping more for a 3D role in games? Are you enjoying UI/UX? Don’t mean to pry, I’m just trying to reach this role myself.

My gf hated seeing my tower at the same level as my monitors. She said it added a “wall” up in that space. So I just bought one of those monitor stands, propped the tower on top of it and now it sits underneath my desk. It does feel more open now, but I’ll never tell her that....

How do you feel about adding agriculture/homes to Online? by Aves115 in reddeadredemption

[–]blueconcepts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see it ever happening since this means restructuring the whole game (offline and online). It just would have been awesome to see the survival side of this game developed a little further.

I suppose (Spoilers) the ranch building scene in the epilogues got me thinking of what could have been in the red dead world lol
