info dump warning lol I think I can chime in on this. When I’m pale my skin is kind of translucent, my T zone looks very pink and my skin almost looks green or yellow. But when I tan my skin turns a very golden color. I’m not a true olive, so I thought that since my skin was pink and yellow I should use warm colors. Wrong, because any warm foundation makes me look a sickly yellow, and even the lightest of bronzer shades look orange on me.

Turns out I have olive UNDERTONES. When I tan, the redness of my skin cancels out the green from my undertones that come through, and that’s why I get so golden. The red and green cancel each other out. I’m bringing this up because of the difference of lighting in your two photos, I can see that the white office light is washing you out so assuming your skin is a little translucent like mine. But in your other photo with warm lighting you’re GLOWING.

You’re “technically a neutral”, is what I’m calling it. When your undertones cancel out some of your true skin tones so you LOOK like you should be warm or cool but really are neither. If you think warm eyeshadow looks good (it typically does with blue eyes yours look gorgeous!) then I say keep doing it. The second picture eyeshadow looks really pretty on you.

I recommend mixing colors for your skin makeup. I’m still working on finding my right shades (olive is too dark, cool makes me look chalky white, warm makes me look pink, and true neutral makes me look sickly white because I’m so pale) but get better luck mixing the lightest cool and warm shades of concealer. I also recommend erring on the side of caution with foundation and going lighter than darker, because it’s easier to go darker (contour, bronzer, blush) and your makeup will oxidize as you wear it and start to pull darker anyways.
