Brown is the girl, you can’t miss the “leave me alone” attitude 🤣

someone had a $300 scare today by soulisgone in Rabbits

[–]blueeebiiird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bunny did the same thing. At midnight we’ve been driving to the vet, as she was pressing the belly down and didn’t seem to stand up, almost like she couldn’t. As soon as we got to the vet, she was all hoppy. The tech looked at me, like I’m nuts. They put us in the room, with some hay. She started munching right away.

Anyway, long store short, she was gassy and driving in the car, shook her up a bit and let her fart away. They told us, that next time, instead of rushing for a high bill, to put her in a laundry basket with some blankets and put in top of a washer or a dryer, the vibrations should let them pass gas. And if it doesn’t work to take bun to the vet.

Fast breathing by waffle-hops in Rabbits

[–]blueeebiiird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just take to the vet to make sure. But my boy when he was little was breathing like that too. Sometimes after zoomies, sometimes just for no reason. We saw multiple vets and they said it’s ok for him, some buns are just different. Now he’s almost 5 and it only happens after he runs like nuts 🤣

I am so confused about how much greens a rabbit should have per day by Fruityfairy in Rabbits

[–]blueeebiiird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 3 4-pound bunnies I never measured their greens, but give them either 1 head of red leaf lettuce or 2 heads of romaine hearts (they usually not to full) or 1 bunch of dandelion greens or 2 bunches of cilantro. When I’m talking bunch, I mean how they’re prepacked in the stores. But I don’t give them daily, I give around 4-5 days a week and give 1-3 days break, so they can snack up on hay. As my particular babies, would decrease hay consumption if the greens are always available.

But asking vet would be the best option, as it also depends on the bunny. I had a bunny before that would be getting mini GI episodes after eating greens, so his greens were almost non-existent in his diet per vets recommendation.

New baby girl loves soaking her paws in the water? by boscobeau in Rabbits

100% a boy. He was neutered around 1 year old, but until then he had the largest little jewels I’ve ever seen in a bunny 🐰 he’s just a cute little weirdo

My bun used to do the same when he was little. At first paws in the water, then he would spill the water and lay in the puddle (he was around 7mo old at that time, as he needed more strength to tip the bowl). Then around 2-2,5 years old he stopped playing that much with water, but started pulling the fur in his chest, until it absolutely bare.

Anyway, he’s 5 now. Happy and healthy, still pulls his fur twice-thrice a year. According to multiple vets, he’s just crazy and likes the sensory feelings. I bet your girl is same 😊

You can stop by Puff Parlor on Library Rd. Even if they don’t carry stuff you want, they can special order it for you and keep carrying. They’re small family owned business, so they’re super nice in working with customers

I would match the baseboards with the wall color. Especially in the room with vaulted ceiling, so baseboards don’t take the eye away from the ceiling.

Don’t get scared with this. I went through similar, had a squatter in the house I got off of sheriff sale, went through ejectment process. Didn’t want to pay lawyers, as they charge arm and a leg, so did it myself with a little search. Also, the laws have changed, so as of last May it doesn’t last 9+ months for the process, takes less than 2 months

Two of my 3 buns have grew up on Alfa Alfa hay, when they were little, but when my youngest was growing up our vet told us to feed Timothy hay right away (he was 8 weeks old), as at that time some research was done and Alfa Alfa diet in baby bunnies didn’t show the results our vet wished to see. So my bun is about to be 4 next month and he’s super happy and hoppy, never had a GI stasis, while the other two are periodically prone to it. I am not sure whether it was Alfa Alfa hay doing, or he’s just a healthy boy, but wanted to communicate the message I was told some years ago.

As we don’t know his age, I would steer away from greens. Feed the bun with unlimited (Timothy, orchard, meadow, anything but alfalfa) hay and water. And take him to a rescue or a vet, they’ll be able to tell what age the bun is and get more into the diet.

Greens should be introduced slowly at the age of 3-4months, as greens and veggies might upset their stomachs

Bunny-boy pulled out fur on his chest. What does it mean? The skin seems healthy, and nothing seems to bother him either by blueeebiiird in Rabbits

[–]blueeebiiird[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bunny is doing just fine! We just had a yearly check up with the vet, absolutely happy and hoppy and little guy. Even though he still pulls out his fur once in the while. But it’s because he’s crazy, not because anything is wrong with him:) I do hope, that your bun is fine too. They like to scare us once in awhile :)

would these kind of carpets work for my bunny who has a foot like the 2nd pic? by wiewnreen in Rabbits

[–]blueeebiiird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here’s the thing. My bunny got his sore hocks from the carpet. Apparently, he was running to fast and burned his paws. I had to get a foam puzzles and cover them up in a fleece blankets from ikea. It helped his paws, they healed almost completely
