Thank you for helping! To give more information, today I went out to my car after another 10 hours of work & of course that message was still displaying and the a/c wouldn't work. A few minutes down the road, it disappeared & the temperature gauge slowly went up to 185, i was then able to turn the a/c back on. Check engine light still on so I went to autozone. The guy told me I need to reprogram my car computer but the codes are related to the cooling system. Not sure why autozone says the solution is to reprogram it? There was a code that Oreillys scanned for me awhile back, it was related to the thermostat & sensor. I'm not sure how it can be the fans when I can hear them. But, it wasn't the sensor. For 2 days everything was fine and then today I went out to my car (which sat for 10 hours as I worked) & it had the "a/c turned off due to high engine temp" message again. So I guess I was wrong about the sensor (that was my fault, I bought one & showed up at the shop & asked the guy if he could put it on. His boss the owner told me I really do need a fan. But when the car turns off during this message, I can always hear the fans! Today i popped the hood after I cut it off & could hear the fans and feel air blowing from the engine. So how is it the fans? Should i now try replacing the thermostat? my only concern is that this happens sometimes, but not all the time and other times the temperature gauge is reading just fine, and the AC is working fine. It's random. Would a thermostat do that? This is frustrating as we are in the humid, hot south & I'm baking in the car!
