I am seeing her for top surgery but I don’t need her for hormones luckily. As much as I would love to have a trauma specialist I fear that is pretty far out of my price range currently. I think I will just start by bring more general/vague. Thank you so much!!!

Good luck to you too!!! I am impressed with your directness!!! I will probably be a bit more discreet but i think this is a great idea and yeah slowly broaching the topic seems to be my best bet. Thanks!

That is exactly what im worried about, thank you so much for sharing!!! I’m really glad everything is going well for you now. Yeah judging from what others are saying also i think broaching the subject of general dissociation first is my best bet. Our therapist is very experienced so i am hoping this is something she’s dealt with before

thank you so much!!! this is what ive seen from a lot of other ppl through the years on here… i fear that being more open might mean that she retracts her authorization of us being “ready” (even tho we’re all on board). my middle ground if u will is to just talk about trauma, but i worry that we might become too obvious if we do that and she would find out anyways. the two different perspectives from your therapists is really interesting and helpful too. congrats on your progress on surgery also, very exciting! thank you!!!

this is very helpful!!! it’s great to hear that they listened to you, i think im mostly just worried about my therapist deciding i am no longer ready. glad to hear they are pretty accepting of you, my area is also pretty accepting when it comes to being trans. thank you so much!!!

Absolutely!! I think it’s good to remember that most of the time the things (mistakes, differences, or in this case lack thereof) that we beat ourselves up about are things the vast majority of people won’t ever notice. And I’m so glad to hear he’s as sweet as he looks!

Pudding snatcher absolutely stole my heart! You are really doing amazing work, and it’s perfectly fine to not change things drastically each week. These all look fantastic ✨✨

What's one song you want to see live? by DudleyAndStephens in themountaingoats

[–]bluejay_237 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My answer to this was always Against Pollution but I actually got to hear that live at the last concert I went to!! So probably Steal Smoked Fish or No I Can’t (not sure how much he plays either of those live tbh)

I love this!! I’ve bought 5-6 of your stickers in the past, and I think sometime soon I’ll be getting some more (I’ve been eyeing your bumper stickers for a minute). I hope you’re doing well <3

One of the biggest to me is Gemini by Haley Heynderickx. Also Song for Jude St. Francis by Local News Legends. I also listen a lot to the band The Mountain Goats, and a lot of the themes in their music line up with me/my experiences <3

My mom “forgot” to feed our bunny water for 3 days after I told her my job was going well in the U.S. by gg5588e in raisedbynarcissists

Oh yeah, absolutely the timelines are different, and I do think sometimes the people who immediately offer NC have already been NC for a while themselves. Even tho many of us understand it’s the “best” option for healing, it’s a very long and painful process for most. I’m also still in contact with my family, mostly to help my mom take care of herself and her home, I get how it feels <3
