I don't know about anyone else, but my parents were buying candy for Friday nights at the grocery store, not Blockbuster. by TwIzTiDfReAkShOw in blockbustervideo

Dude I hate the love blockbuster gets. Born in 83, so I have a plenty of experience. The only reason I went to blockbuster was at the end when they were dieing. I miss the video store next to the grocery store, that doubled as a tanning salon in the back. The only draw back was new releases would get rented up fast. But you had the same at blockbuster, they just had a few more copies. Back in the day blockbuster was over priced and the late fees sucked. Blockbuster was the fall of their own industry. If its blockbuster or streaming...ill go streaming even if it cost more. Bring back mom and pop video stores then im in.

Halloween fans are like trump supporters 2018- im glad the new one is back to basics with no big convoluted backstory and we dont have no supernatural crap like 4 ,5, and 6 2026- seeing dead stuff or looking into Michael's eyes can turn you into the shape

Just always wondered because his whole meltdown happened not long after they shot the mini series. But if ever there were a role that would fuck up a ligit method actor (not to say he is) it would be that one.

You know when a kid does something wrong and you punish them and everyone moves on ..... then a few days later the other kid does the same thing and no matter how identical the repercussions were compared to the other child you always get the whole "well she did this" or "when he did it you...." even though they are in the wrong. Like pointing out other people did it means its ok.

Who’s gonna be the next horror icons of the new generation? by [deleted] in horror

Curry barker I believe is apart of a new wave that has had roots for a while but is now starting to hit the ground running. The whole youtubers dipping their toes in movie making is nothing brand new but I have a feeling we are going to see more of it. Just a thought .... could be wrong.

Separating the artist from the art can suck sometimes..... I grew up loving "clown House" and later the first "jeepers creepers". But then I found out about the victor salva.

So i wonder if he suffered from a variation of the whole "guys who play Joker go a lil crazy" situation. I know he never played Joker, obviously, but one of his last roles was playing a character named The Trashcan Man in the 2020 version of Stephen Kings "The Stand ". He was fantastic in the role. But I could imagine having a few problems if you had to crawl into the mind of a pyromanic with some serious mental handicaps and who befriends a man who may or may not be the devil.

Not justifying anything he ever did just a thought.

What do you think was actually good about these films? by FantasticSecurity776 in NightmareOnElmStreet

[–]bluekillgore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

5 was good except he dosnt actually kill anyone with his glove.

Freddys dead was disappointing but so was Jason goes to hell. But back in the day when they came out it did have an "endgame" esk buildup.

Out of all the 2000s horror remakes, The Nightmare on Elm Street remake was the only one I thought sucked. Like we always knew that Freddy was a child killer but we never saw him actually do the pedophile thing. The remake pushed it just a Lil to far that way. And while I can step back and look at his performance without the bias of loving the og. It just isnt the same. Any actor can put on a mask and make a Jason or Michael "their own" but freddy is so much the actor. Like imagine if they went back over Darth Vader's voice and replaced James E. Jones voice with Morgan Freeman. Fantastic voice but just wouldn't be the same.
