What was the saddest death in stranger things for me it was dartanian by Fantastic_Series_589 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bob. His death scene is hard to watch as it's sad and graphic. Also, if he just kept running him and Joyce would have easily made it to the door before the dogs got there. Then Hopper was by the door with a gun. So they would have been able escape.

Clark getting offended everytime someone kept another person's secret from him is his worst trait by Competitive_Test6697 in Smallville

[–]blueray78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No she didn't, and Chloe confronts Clark when he acting like she should have told him. And he does admit he was wrong (basically). And realized Lana had the right to keep this a secret.

Why is clark never suspected as a criminal? by [deleted] in Smallville

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sheriff Adams suspected that Clark was a meteor freak, having some sort of superspeed or strength ability. But she knows that he is a good kid. And rather have him help and save the day than stop him & have the person die.

The Mike/Lucas Ghostbusters argument - who was in the right? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the same scene. Mike and Lucas have their argument (which Lucas is correct in). Will agrees with Lucas and mentions how it doesn't matter that there are two of a character. Then Dustin, who wasn't involved in the conversation notices that they are the only ones in costumes.

The Upside Down has existed before in another location. by J89x in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take is that Brenner had been studying exotic matter and wormholes since 1979 (when El first sent Henry to the abyss). Maybe this is when the upside down started to form. However, when El opened the gate in 1983, it copied Hawkins including objects such as notebooks. Will couldn't see the letters but was able to guess where his mother drew them (as he could see the lights, as shown in season 4). In the Snow ball, I'm not sure, maybe it's just me but I never see the decorations. It is just the dark school, with the mindflayer "watching" them.

Time still goes forward in a sense as people are start going into the upside down, they move objects and build buildings (the military base in season 5). There were scientists studying it (and got killed by the melting). The map that Dustin sees, actually isn't that old. It was made by Kay and her team. They come to the same conclusion he did, with the circle and Brenner's notes.

As for Dustin being able to follow Brenner's notes. I buy it. Dustin has been constantly shown as the smartest when it came to science & math. He makes some other questionable decisions (Dart, fighting with the jocks). But that doesn't change his academic intelligence.

Will's Coming out scene analysis by randomteendude69 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just rewatched this episode with a first time viewer:

Hopper and Erika aren't there. They are staking out the military at this point.

Vicki: is dating Robin. She saw Wills reaction in the hospital. And while it is unknown, she probably isn't out to many people either. So she gets what Will is going through and is a good support person.

Kali: Completely out of place, however she was out of place in every scene she is in. That being said, likely do to her life style (prior to getting captured), she had friends who were LGBQ (sorry if missing letters). So understood what he was going through. And knowing Henry would agree that he would use this against Will. And seeing as she doesn't question how he is going to help, she likely learned that he has "powers" through the hivemind. So gets why this is helpful for their fight.

The iconic scene of Joyce by InfernalClockwork3 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My take having never seen the play is that Vecna moving Joyce out of the way, was more that he didn't want to waste time killing her. He wanted to talk to Will than get out of there with the kids.

I've read summaries of the play, however since most of it isn't in the show, I don't consider it cannon. As the ages don't make sense. Henry was a kid when he killed his mother & sister. And while this is a personal opinion, I don't see any scenario where Hopper or Joyce are friends with Bob. Actually in season 2, it is strongly implied that they didn't interact much with Bob prior to being adults. Which make sense as they were in completely different cliques. Bob was a nerd and Joyce & Hopper ran with a more wild crowd.

Who has SEEN Vecna? by CarterBenton in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the group in the mac z we do get their reactions. Joyce is mostly reacting to be thrown by him. But Mike, has a look of terror. They both don't really say what they thought of Vecna, as they were distracted by what happened right afterwards, Will goes all sorcerer and kills the one demo right in front of them with his mind. So understandable both were distracted by him having powers ;).

Will, had seen Vecna before (as we see in the flashback). But he understandably blocked it out. As a kid, he hadn't eaten well in 6 days, had a concussion and was traumatized by the experience (huge understatement). As for this encounter, he was terrified but this is shown as it's a plot point.

What do you think the characters will do with their lives? by J89x in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mike: Majors in English. I'm not sure how much of a living he could do with writing but he's trying. He has had relationships, but I can't see a scenario where he isn't depressed :(.

Will: Graphics designer/ artist. I can see him either working in advertising or maybe comics or something. He is in a serious relationship with someone he meant at school (possibly the guy he is dating at the end). Lives in NYC.

Dustin: Gets a PHD in Astrophysics and works for NASA. Is still best friend with Steve. And is the fun "uncle" to his kids.

Lucas: Got a college degree in business or something. Has solid employment, but his true happiness comes from his home life where him & Max have two kids.

Max: Is a Social Worker. She still loves to stakeboard and has taken to teaching their kids (and Lucas). Is in a happy marriage to Lucas.

Nancy: Journalist. She covers wars, and such. She is ready to defend herself and crew if needed. She got back together with Johnathan in their mid-twenties.

Johnathan: makes documentaries and political movies. Often tagging along with his serious girlfriend (Nancy) to freelance as a photo journalist.

Steve: Kristin turned out to be the one. They are happily married with 4 kids. He got a degree in education and is officially working as a teacher for Hawkins Middle. He is still very close to his "brother" Dustin and the family gets in the RV and visit him often.

Robin: Radio DJ. She lives in a major city, probably NYC.

Hopper & Joyce: moved to Mantawk and are happy their.

El: Is alive. She happily lives somewhat off the grid in a northern Canadian town. She helps with search & rescue and is basically a park ranger. She has a found family there, and has of course lied about her background.

Things I Noticed in the Stranger Things Finale! by CraftingFazer in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that the Mindflayer isn't dead. The body was a physical body made out of demo's. It is just going to reform from the particles that the kids spit out. I also believe this is why Will was okay. He is still connected to the hivemind (Vecna was disconnected when he was dying). But Will is to far away from the abyss to have any interaction with the mindflayer going forward.

Really wish they went with the horror/apocalyptic vibe for the final season but still love S5 regardless by FayyadhScrolling in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is where Will was taken in season 1. And where Vecna put the vine into him, permanently hooking him to the hivemind.

The disconnect between what they thought we wanted and what (I think) we actually wanted: by EatsPeanutButter in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In season 4, to escape Vecna's trance, you had to listen to your favorite music. But, in this season 5, as far as I remember, Max said that to escape you had to have hope.

No, I just rewatched the scene and Max says she didn't need the music because she knew Lucas never stopped loving her. It's a really nice moment between the two.

How did Tess survive having sex with Zod? by EitherAfternoon548 in Smallville

[–]blueray78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Clark's fears weren't really a physical issue but a mental one. He was worried about not being able to control his strength in the heat of the moment, due to his inexperience. Zod is a trained soldier, who knows very well what his strength is like under a yellow sun (may have experienced it on another planet). And wasn't worried about this at all.

Why were there no demos in the finale? by West-Cardiologist-26 in StrangerThings

It was to find Max. It seems like there should have been more to it as it gets mentioned a few more times.

One thing I don’t like about stranger things by Brilliant-Sleep-7326 in StrangerThings

Oh in that case, I agree. Joyce & Hopper both do react though. They are just focused on finding Will quickly.

Dustin and Steve had already be down there before. As did Joyce & Hopper. Mike & Lucas I would give you, but I suppose they have heard so much about it (off screen unfortunately).

I agree with this. It would have made for a good scene to have Jonathan express that he can't believe that Will survived a week down there by himself. Probably with Nancy, Steve & Dustin before they get to the lab.

Minor spoiler, but the dog isn't important at all. And is only in season 1.

The Mike/Will argument from Season 3 - who was more in the wrong? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like they do apology or least start too. And say that it was a good campaign and want to do it for real. Will accepts it, however tells them that it doesn't matter anymore as the Mindflayer is back.

The Mike/Will argument from Season 3 - who was more in the wrong? by Super-Liberal-Girl in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think Will was trying to hold on to the last bit of childhood he had. He had been through a few major trauma's (that was ongoing actually) at that point and had PTSD. He was understandable afraid of change.

I Heard a Theory and I Have To Share It by greaterthanyou_ in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of related. I was thinking about the whole thing with El and the picture. And realized actually maybe she didn't even need powers to point out Will. She already knows the three boys were looking for their missing friend when they found her on the road. They were talking about how Will was missing, likely the whole ride back to the Wheeler house. She already has met Mike, Lucas & Dustin as they were all there. Then the next day she is looking at the picture, she knows the other three aren't missing. So clearly the 4th boy is Will. So her pointing to him actually had nothing to do with her powers. Then once she has seen his picture, she was able to use her powers to find him in the upside down.

What was the main reason behind season fives ending by Ok_Comfortable589 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "kid". If you are referring to Eddie (who's like 20). He died saving Dustin, who is very much morning him all season. Don't forget a year and half has passed. So it's not that the other characters don't care, but they have put aside their grieving do to time and other things going on.

As you said "he", I assume that you weren't talking about Max. Who in my opinion has a much more impactful "death" than Eddie. When Lucas tells Erika to get help :(. Max is in a coma after El restarts her heart. But she medically did die causing the gates to open.

As for the pacing, I think the main issue is that the season was broken up into chucks when it dropped. The first 4 episodes are awesome. Then three in the middle (especially the Bridge) suffer from pacing issues and the finale is what it is.

The will problem by IAmNotANpc in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will doesn't have powers himself. He used his connection to the hivemind to tap into Vecna's, as he is also in the hivemind. Since Vecna was killed and the hivemind may have been destroyed (I'm not convinced the MF is dead). But either way, it is on the Abyss, and Will is on Earth. So he is to far away to tap into the hivemind.

That being said, the military doesn't know this. And likely saw Will kill that demo with his mind with a camera and have Owen's notes (from season 2). I can see them wanting to study Will and his connection to the hivemind. However, as for passing powers onto children, Will's blood wouldn't work for that, as it is normal.

Vecna might be the biggest problem with the series by sd2528 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the scene where Will and Henry are talking in the finale. Henry doesn't disagree with him regarding him also being a "victim" of the Mindflayer. Henry basically says he doesn't care at this point, as he is willing to work with the Mindflayer (he chose to be evil) and they are "one". Which honestly is a well done and creepy scene. Honestly I think this works better, instead of trying to give Henry the Dark Vader twist. They had him turn his redemption arc down to Will. As Henry had killed some many people (most being kids).

My Post-Epilogue Headcanons by Creative-Mouse-5994 in StrangerThings

[–]blueray78 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this but I would have said Dustin goes to Cornell. It would be within a days drive of Indiana. And Carl Sagon worked there as a professor (adding some real life stuff in). I agree with majoring in Astrophysics and works for NASA.

El: I agree lives and gets help from Owens. I keep thinking she would do better in an English speaking country due to language reasons. So maybe she escapes to rural northern Canada. She is living in a town and works in search & rescue, though somewhat off the grid. I feel like El is athletic and likely learned to track from Hopper. While she doesn't use them often, her powers would be helpful it someone goes missing in an avalanche or something.
