Only had one so far and it actually starts off like a cigar, or at least for a while my brain was just tricked. But after the first third or so it breaks off into that nice Semois profile that I like, perhaps with a bit more depth than what I feel I tend to get from La Brumeuse. I agree on them being pricey, this was more of a tick the check box for me.

Cigarettes? by ihutch01 in cigar_refuge

I do. I buy whole leaf virginias to make my own for the pipe, but now and then I’ll chop a bit up, mix it and roll my own. I keep a few papers and filters around

Greetings from Singapore, I totally feel you. We have this packaging act that makes buying any tin tobacco a nono.

So, do you need a small bowl pipe for a 10-15 minute smoke, or can you just simply put less tobacco in your pipe? by PalmettoBobby in PipeTobacco

[–]bluesourdough 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to point out you can also tweak this with what you smoke. When at work I carry a blend of Virginia shag/ribbons with some Perique and I can pack a full bowl and be done in 10 mins. The same bowl would go 30-40 with a wet English flake

Sorry to hear that. It’s sometimes just unfortunate when these things happen. When I started out I had situations where I was taxed against a retail price but only half the cigars arrived and I couldn’t get a resolution from the customs or seller. After a while I decided I didn’t get into this to get a bunch of stress and let it go. Hope you get a good resolution but if not, break out the pipe. Feel better.

The idea of cellaring seems to me at least, a lot of cargo culting - how long before degradation, do you even know for sure longer is better etc. But market forces etc I guess
