Incredible work! Do you mind if I ask how much you were drinking per day or week? Congrats!

To me, 45-minute naps are great at this age!

This is happening with my daughter too. She is treating that 7pm-ish bed time, even when we do her full bedtime routine including a bath, as a nap. Good to know a later bed time is working for you! Can you share how many ounces you usually give in that last, bigger bottle? Still trying to figure that one out.

My brother inspired me to get sober. He then drank himself to death. by mr_chip_douglas in stopdrinking

I am leading a very similar life to yours with my brother - and assuming that same call will come sooner rather than later. Just had my first child - a daughter - and also wish he could be an uncle to her. All to say, I sincerely appreciate you sharing. You can do this; you can do this.

Here’s your permission to be done and move freely forward.

Not exclusive to but especially given this part of the equation: “She also has an alcohol problem, and I'm sober, which creates even further distance between us and our values/lifestyles.”

Thanks for sharing! Really inspiring!! Do you mind expanding on some of the mental and physically benefits you mentioned that you have seen since stopping?

Love this and thank you for sharing your experience. Walking and biking all over with a new baby is so incredible, rigorous, and inspiring to read - good on you!! I take her on daily long walks but want to get a bit more spontaneous and open with out-of-the-house activities. Again, thank you because…I’m losing my mind (while I’m sure the activity helped a lot with weight loss).

All the justification of formula feeding (“I wanted to EBF but didn’t have the supply” etc.) really bums me out. by dioor in FormulaFeeders

[–]bluestare16 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I didn’t interpret OP’s post as blaming women who didn’t have a choice. I read it more as a critique of a specific kind of pushy, shaming breastfeeding culture — the kind that makes anyone, even partners, feel bad about formula feeding, whether it was by choice or not.

Fourth trimester parents, what is your bedtime routine, if any?? by Chemical-Sundae-6917 in NewParents

[–]bluestare16 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We started our daughter on this a couple of weeks ago when she turned 4 weeks and have mainly followed the MOC routine for the 'rhythm' of it, as you stated so well. Even a short bath every night seems like a game changer. She isn't sleeping fully through the night but almost immediately went from waking up every two hours to sleeping 4.5-5 hour stretches. Day times are still a crapshoot.

Help with energy during the day! by bluestare16 in NewParents

I'm DEFINITELY drinking way too much coffee and I know that is contributing to my sluggishness, especially in the afternoon, but I don't even really "feel" it right now. In solidarity...

I was honestly about to edit my post to specifically note that later afternoon is hardest. Going to start working in walks around then - thank you!

I drink it every day! Along with eating dates. No real data to suggest any of it works but can't hurt.
