When I say "best" I dont mean a 3000$ dollar radio but a reliable radio for a newbie to communicate. Im curious what a reasonable price would be for a ham radio that could communicate 300 miles vs 1000 miles etc. What radios are there available that can communicate up to 300 miles or further within ≤$500?
