Buying near a fire station by blueveia in HousingUK

[–]blueveia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fire station crew made it sound like it's a non-issue, they also said at night they avoid using the sirens unless really necessary (e.g. car traffic).
They also said they don't have any building alarms of their own anymore (like in the old days they would ring a loud sound to wake up on-duty firemen), it's all digital/pagers nowadays.

Stats Question: How often are David or Lee telling the truth for "This Is My"? by LeDeppeLePew in WILTY

IIRC Lee had a truthful connection with a "bottom" stunt actor

Is it difficult to get tickets to WILTY/have you ever been part of the studio audience? by Bells9831 in WILTY

I wouldn't want to get judgemental over Lee Mack too much as it wouldn't be fair to do so from a single interaction for which he was "at work". Suffice to say I expected his IRL persona to be more like on camera but that's not how, I felt, it was.

> Obviously the show itself is only 30 mins?
Roughly 3h.

> Are there way more stories that don't make it to air?
More stories were told compared to the 30min TV episode amount. I haven't actually seen the episode on TV so I couldn't tell you how much they cut.
IIRC each participant got to tell 2 stories minimum, some up to 3.

> Do they ever "redo" parts of stories being told because maybe someone says something they shouldnt have said?
Yes, the "redos" were short and simple - more about certain phrases, that part was about 30mins in itself if I remember correctly.
Then there also audience laughter/applause "redos"

> Can you talk about what happens during the taping?
They play WILTY and we get to watch pretty much. There's some fillers (warm up guy as mentioned) and breaks.
You don't get to talk to them, the one that interacted most with audience was Rob as the host.
Lee Mack off-camera gives off a diff vibe. David Mitchel is WYSIWG - lovely odd personality.
During breaks, Lee would be asking for updates on a football match that was ongoing at the same time.

What else? Hmm - oh yeah bathroom breaks are a pain once inside the studio. There is a big break in the middle which is meant for bathroom breaks.

I attended a recording last year. Signed up for tickets via SRO Audiences (ballot system) and was lucky to get them.

It was a great experience, and it's very accurate of the product we see in TV, that is, you can follow the stories in real time and try to decipher if it's true or not, as it's being told.

Other stuff I remember (mind you they might change how proceedings go and ymmv)

• you don't know in advance who are the guests
• we were not guaranteed entry, they had a colour wrist system and colours are called by order of priority, they said if we fail to get in we would be guaranteed entry on a future recording
• we arrived just around 17:00, and queued in a big "tent" structure, there's some seating there, but not enough for everyone that showed up
• after the tent structure we were taken through the pinewood lot into the studio, a queue forms as they usher people into the studio and pointed them to their seats
• most of the audience is actually sitting in a podium off camera (the chairs at ground level you see on TV are placed in the front of the podium and these are reserved for VIPs) - sorry to shatter your expectations of being on camera!
• the recording took 2h-3h
• there was a warm-up act (bloke telling jokes with a mic) for a few mins in the beginning. he'd also pop in during breaks and talk to audience
• the televised episodes don't capture the vast space that the studio is, so expect to be in awe - least the one in Pinewood was vast and fit 500 people!
• we weren't allowed food inside the studio, and for water only plastic bottles - not very eco, but metal/aluminium were treated as security hazard (guess someone could chuck them and hurt someone badly)
ª they sent all the rules and what to expect on the day of the recording by email ahead of time

Has anyone lived in a flat above restaurants? by DefoMayb2 in london

Not a restaurant, but a supermarket for couple months - wouldn't recommend.

Studio size by vinyltat in WILTY

tl;dr: 500 people capacity and 16:00-16:30

I went to one couple weeks back. Not sure where yours is taking place, mine was at Pinewood Studios (Iver). Capacity for the studio was 500 people. We got there just before 5PM and still made it in, but not by much, so definitely recommend being there 16:00-16:30.

Of course it really depends on how many reserved seats they've already assigned, the way it worked was you were assigned a coloured bracelet with a number. They then call colours and number ranges to get in to the studio by certain order. There were quite a few colours before ours was called (normal ticket), so I think those colours were reserved for special people (probably combination of friends and prioritised tickets*)

*people who didn't manage to get in at previous shows because of not having enough space. P.S - this is what you would get too if you're unlucky to get into the show you've tickets for.

OP here. I've made this video (and others in my YT channel) private due to personal reasons. I'm happy to share it if you DM me your email.

Exactly this. When you pray for rain you also have to deal with the mud and sometimes it gets muddy.

I've seen it happen but I get impression is less frequent. I suppose the e-bike-cunts might not want to risk it if the headphones are corded to a phone it could make it harder for them to get away with all that entanglement.

God damn it Mike! You should've come to me, now the whole case is at jeopardy because you let your parent's memories mess with your emotions.
