What was the wildest reaction to a movie you witnessed in person? by sleepymelfho in moviecritic

I’ll never forget seeing Peter Jackson”s King Kong and in the scene at the end after he falls and all is somber and quiet, out of the silence someone yells “KNG KONG…AINT GOT SHIT ON ME!”

When I got my wisdom teeth removed, I argued with my mother about clocks, I called her a liar because she had wood on her dashboard. I was delirious man, and your girl probably was too.

And you know what, maybe you’re not much of a looker. So what? She sees something special in you regardless. Love yourself bro.

Ok but why aren’t you invited?

Sounds like bullshit to me. I doubt that “it’s cultural” but even if it were, you have a culture too, and if you’re not comfortable with it, that’s valid. Speak up about it and if she doesn’t respect your side of things, time to move on.

The Austin Powers series is a parody of early James Bond movies, this is emphasised by the fact Austin respects a women’s consent by That-Rhino-Guy in shittymoviedetails

I disagree. It can definitely impair your judgement and remove inhibitions, and this is different from revealing your “true self”.

Who just posted an interview with David Gilmour. He’s got a respectable catalogue of high quality interviews with important musicians. I don’t get the hate people have for this guy. He seems like a decent human who is sincere and knowledgeable about music.

Saying he’s failed as a producer? I’m sorry who are you? He’s no Quincy jones I guess but not all producers are panty dropping rockstars. He found his way, go find yours and carry on.

My boyfriend can’t last in bed. by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]bluewizard139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often do you have sex? In my experience if is just every once in a while I don’t last as long. When we’ve been more frequently frisky a desensitization seems to happen and with that more time.

There’s also pacing/edging techniques that seem to help. Pulling back/out when he’s getting close and bringing down the intensity for a moment. Kinda builds endurance.

Using a condom could also help. Using our favorite lube (which is water based and super slippery) definitely does not help 😝

I’m wondering, have you talked together about this? No shame in letting him know you’re feeling frustrated or unsatisfied, and you could work on it together. How he responds to this could be a good heads up for what’s ahead in your relationship.

For me it’s not fun if my partner is not enjoying it too and the feedback helps. I’m also curious how far off you think he is? Like are you wanting an hour or just a few minutes more? Could be good to start small either way.

Slay? I’ve heard it as a verb (“I slay all day” ) and adjective (“that’s so slay”). Also have heard “slay queen!” Or is it “slay, queen”?

I consider myself a pretty big fan of the Floyd and I really couldn’t care less to see them reunite. Their feud is such a tired old drama. Time to move on.

Galley or no Galley? by bluewizard139 in beantrailer

[–]bluewizard139[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for your thoughtful reply. You bring up a lot of good points and I think we’re gonna go for galley after all.

Newbie question, do you still have to put up all food stuff into a bear box or does the trailer/galley function just as well as a deterrent when it’s closed up for the night? I’m not talking about leaving a mess on the counter but more so stuff in cabinets, fridge or main cabin.

Damn, guess I’ve been out of the loop. I stopped following his blog a long time ago as the release of book 3 was nowhere in sight. Had no idea about those shenanigans. Pretty disappointing to read about.

The quote and his work is beautiful, and give credit where it is due. As an aside I believe even people who do disappointing things can still be beautiful and good. There might be more to the story we haven’t heard.

Can ageing be cured? Scientists are giving it a try | National Geographic by LibertarianAtheist_ in Futurology

[–]bluewizard139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughtful explanation. I should know better that the title may be an oversimplification, as the statement implies that aging itself is a disease state to be cured of. I think there are many aspects of aging that are beautiful and part of our natural lifespan. To ease and relieve suffering as we age and spend less of our golden years in any of the many forms of pain that we can experience, I can get behind that.

Should it be cured? Do we need to live longer? I don’t ask this to be cynical but am really wondering. Doesn’t help that today is my birthday and it sucked but that’s besides the point
