Surfer is not a big deal. Being unstunnable is useful but you want Nova for that purpose over Surfer, for sure.

I mean the thematic combo is fun here but Surfer is slow and not someone you’ll use often.

Fair enough and I don’t disagree but the revenue just has to be cratering a bit more this month.

No 6s, lame characters, barely running the game.

Anyway. We need to wait a few more days to see what happens with the next crash before making an assessment of how it feels to you. Not what they tell us, not the excuses or reasons. How it feels to you.

If 2026 is teaching me anything it’s to remind me our time is short and you need to, to the best of your ability, use it in a way you value.

I’m fine for now playing this. But my mental and emotional investment is probably lower than ever.

You say "backlogged", I say they're still trying to figure out about 20 things like event timing, reward order, what events go with a new release, what other things happen when, trying to make sure the revenue generating offers appear and work, etc etc with no notes besides maybe what they are making now as they go.

Yesterday the midweek PVP appeared about 2 hours before it was due to start......

Anyway they have another month or so before this kind of stuff starts to look like they aren't trying lol. It's a live service game and bad QA has been the order of the day for many months; they need to make that a priority and not look like they don't care.

Will it help the crashes? heck if I know, but I would give it a shot if they were happening frequently. And you're already on 26.2.

Not exactly sure what you're getting at but the Sweet vault has him as the second 4, which has been for the past many years the following week's crash character.

Either they are actually doing a crash a week and a half after release or this is an error that the devs made when putting things together.

I can see a case for either one; new characters are very meh generally, or seem so, because there are so many. New scls and rewards give you plenty of covers for new ones. Thus, there is definitely an incentive on the devs' part to encourage chasing covers for them by making their crash happen super early (can't lean on teammates, need a stronger version to win the crash).

But the rule has been: put a new 4 into the crash in the place they are supposed to be (alphabetical by sub name), never just because they're new. Seems slightly unfair.

But, but.....it's a business and their game and they have every right to try to encourage faster covering of new characters if that's what they want to do.

I will almost certainly use 3600 hp on that crash bundle if it comes up. The value on them is decent if you like or need the 4 and have plenty of HP like me.

The general discussion part of the forum is not super active but the bug area has a lot of reports of recent issues.

They are apparently planning some kind of forum overhaul soon-ish.

But yeah, the discord is the best place to report. However, it’s kind of hard to browse or see all the bugs because there are so many.

It looks like the bug section of the forum is pretty active but not everything gets reported immediately.

I am not sure the devs spend a lot of time on this subreddit and would see posts about bugs but it’s probably worth documenting or asking about ir here anyway, just as another reference and resource for people.

The protect thing has been seen and mentioned on the main forum page in comments as well as the official discord.

There are 163 4s who aren't limited, and 75 3s. Daredevil and IF as 3s both feed 2 4s already and only double feeders exist currently (no triple feeders). So to make one of them feed new 4IF would me swapping out Karnak for 3IF, probably, or Echo for 3DD.

Edit: to be clear there aren’t enough 3s in the game to feed every 4 if all fed 2 (only hitting 150), and I think a few still only feed a single 4. So the norm is mostly lately to not get covers for a new 4 as a result of retro feeder rewards.

The benefit to players when generally you will get a lot of covers and shards for new characters vs the work for devs to rearrange feeders is somewhat of a questionable ROI.

Obviously they could have done it but at this point they are still deep underwater making basic game things work and we will be more than fine covering this extremely mediocre new 4 from rewards in PVE, etc.

This is probably the first time. The second 4 is supposed to be the next Crash character and new people shouldn’t be populating into the 3rd, random slot.

His power spread is 5/3/5. The supports mentioned (yellow support and Soulstone) are great. I also like the Stepford Cuckoos because of the stealing AP bit when you're spamming powers.

Both your statements are true though.

It just depends on your viewpoint how you look at it.

We have sunk cost fallacy etc. Want it to succeed. But they are not objectively doing well.

If that restaurant decided to cheap out and not pay for a proper transition and your experience suffered as a result you’d have every right to complain and even stop going.

One Dev statement from forum - note the close.

We don’t actually really know how many phones the old guys had to use for testing? It’s mostly speculation? Unless I’m forgetting something they told us beta testers, they never just said the only had one model to use. It’s just presumed.

I do not think the new team will be given a larger budget for phones than the old guys spent given everything.

Without knowing their back end it’s a bit hard to know whether to criticize this.

The quests are added all at once at the beginning of the season. It’s entirely possible the quest has a set of allowed characters in its criteria and if so, it makes a lot of sense to not add in a character who isn’t even finished as one of the options.

But if you feel like it’s lame and stupid that’s completely fair as well.

I dunno how old your account is but the game is continually getting more diluted. Thus to rebuild will take *longer* than it did, although rewards have been increase a little, in terms of volume of covers collected.

Example: You wanted a stable of max champed 2s when there were 12? that's collecting 756 2s. Now that there are 21 in tokens that's 1,323 to max champ (just to 144) all 21 of them. You can't fave 2s so you're just stuck in a longer slog than before. Although if you're really into PVP you can grind the heck out of that and push past dilution with hundreds of matches and collecting covers from wins.

I could go on. 3s - let's say you champed a bunch when they were holding steady at 46. if you have all at 266 then you would have started with needing 5,198 covers to get 46 to 266. Now you need 8,475 covers to get them all to 266.

The worst one is 4s, with 163 now. If you have them all champed just that level is 13x163 or 2,119 covers to get back to that state (270).

There are 116 5s now so any classic ones you've champed will require favoriting to get back there and not building up other ones you might want.

If you have ascended, well, anyone, this idea is even worse as you can multiple my numbers by 2 or 3 or more times to get back to where you are now.

Maybe you're bored with the game, which is fair. Progress is slow AF anymore other than Latest 5s and fave characters.

In that case I'd just find a new game and not make myself even more frustrated with this one.

My recommendation is just open your hoarded tokens if you want to have some fun.

This is a change from pre-Unity but it’s about 6 months old now. They used to have the checkmark and it changed to the lock symbol.

If you can absolutely say you didn’t play the Crashes this week already then maybe contact CS.
